Email issues with authentication

Since yesterday I’m getting notifications that “authentication failed” and I need to check my log in details for the native mail app.

Its not getting new mail from my Murena account. All others work.

Is there a problem with the mailservers ?

Regain your privacy! Adopt /e/OS the deGoogled mobile OS and online services

This would hopefully be revealed by checking eCloud status.

Looks 100% at this time, no recent incidents reported.

The config settings can be checked from within the app.

Top left 3 bar menu > Settings > named e.mail account >
Sending mail → Outgoing server
Fetching mail → Incoming server.

Thanks @aibd but I have changed nothing in these settings. Not by me, no updates.

Is this related to the OAuth problem @mauve has with mail ?

I changed the settings from “OAuth 2.0” to normal password.

Seems to be working now

As this crops up quite often, may I ask for benefit of others “changed the settings” where?

Top left menu, select account, settings, select account again and then “berichten ophalen” (fetch mail/get mail ?) don’t know the English name because is use Dutch language settings, incoming server, under “authentication type” I select ”normal password” (murena account password).

Now it fetches mail again, but the message is also still there……

Is it worth checking whether you have to do both

Sending mail →Outgoing server
Fetching mail → Incoming server.

Done that, message remains.

Update Aug.2: i tapped on the message and followed the instructions. Filled in the password and now the message is completely gone.

Is this a safety feature ?

Yes, it’s the same, didn’t get a reauthorisation request.

I have deleted the account in the mail client, and reentered de same account.

And it works.
