Emails stuck in outbox, not sending

I’m a brand new user to /e/os and murena. I have a Fairphone 6 only a few days old. I can receive email to my murena.io account fine, but sent mail is stuck in the outbox. I’ve tried test mails to various accounts. I have checked the outgoing mail settings against the guide on this forum and all seems OK.

Any suggestions?

I have installed k9 mail and all accounts are OK.

I tried gmail, yahoo, hotmail, all are OK. Murena mail also. K9 mail will be my mail app :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Please see whether, navigate to Inbox > Swipe down from top of screen > does this cause a visible “waiting spinner” for a few seconds, does Outbox then clear?

Status https://status.murena.io/ is fractionally below 100% right now.

No delay. I am getting a notification from the app saying “sender address rejected: not owned by user *******@murena.io

I can now see that one email has sent but others are getting stuck.

Not the usual message but I wonder if you already sent many email on a free account ??

Had the same problem and could not solve it. Emails to known contacts have been send but not to unknown contacts. Now I’m using Fairmail as an alternative, without issues but I have no idea what went wrong. But this could be the solution to compare and align the settings and test them on both Mail Apps.

No one only attempted to send two emails from this account, I’ve only had the account for 3 days.

Ah that is frustrating for an app that comes on a fairly premium phone that costs significantly more than its stock Android alternative…

and the sender-address the same for both, the ones that get stuck and the ones that do send?

I’ve seen that before when users tried to use the hide-my-email feature as sending address (not possible).

As you can send “somehow”, you must have set a recovery email address already, right?
