Fairphone 4 Pre-installed Updater does not load updates

I think I have been ignoring my phone updates actively as I thought it would update automatically.

I have a Fairphone 4 with pre-installed /e/OS bought with Murena directly (Android 12; 1.17-s-20231109350748-stable-FP4). Apprently I haven’t received any updates after v.1.17 which is quite outdated. If I refresh it indicates there are no new updates available.

I notices something was wrong as my app store (in anonymity mode) stopped working and some of my important apps I can no longer use.

Concrete question: how can I update the system and receive the updates automatically again, and also have access to the pre-installed app store in anonymity mode?

Regain your privacy! Adopt /e/OS the deGoogled mobile OS and online servicesphone

You are likely to have a locked bootloader and stuff stored on your phone.

I added the hashtag fp4 to your OP. There have been a surprisingly large number of people have reported same or similar.

I suggest you review the other similar cases by hashtag. The main choice would be do you prefer to do

  • a clean fresh install and rely on your own backup, or
  • still be sure you have a good backup and attempt a dirty upgrade as has been attempted with mixed success by others.

Thank you @aibd.

I did search around on the forum a bit, but still have some questions.

Fairphone 4 (murena-store bought), Android 12
Version: 1.17-s-20231109350748-stable-FP4

I want to try the dirty upgrade, but I am not fully sure where to download the file. I looked around at Github, and reckon -s stands for the official (stable) build?

Where can I actually download the file?

-s- is for Android 12 (S). References:
