Not sure if you are aware of this article (which has been share in other post as far as I know), where it states that they are looking into ‘these options to expand to /e/OS’.
If it is a launcher then it will be a pretty big change for the look and feel of /e/OS which in the past was very important for the developers. maybe it can be an option to choose (camera FP6) or turn on like cameras before FP6
The development team is working on adding more features from moments to the /e/OS version of the FP6. This requires some serious development work and coordination with the stock ROM team from FP. We will share when more Fairphone Moments related features are ready for public release.
Does anyone know if on /e/OS 3.2 there is a way to set the slider/hardware switch/lime-green-colored-button of the FP6 to do nothing?
Precise step-by-step details will be much appreciated.
Despite the fact that it’s a minor issue, the combination of that switch and the apparent possibility not to make it to “do nothing” on /e/OS (while, on the contrary, apparently it seems to be possible to turn the switch off on the default “Android OS” of the FP6), represents for me a non-attractive feature of the FP6 with /e/OS.
/e/OS is not “Android OS” and they do have a partnership but it is not the same OS. I would assume also the codebase is not the same and has been done twice. But my viewing angle might differ from general public
It would be really cool if it was possible to turn of the camera and the microphone even when the phone is locked. If I first have to unlock my phone every time I use the switch its not very practical. Thanks a lot
I just tried it and I cant turn the microphone access off when the phone is locked. Not with the swith or manual. If I press the button my phone requests to unlock it. Maybe I changed something in the settings? But I dont think so. Strange
I experienced the behaviour when my phone was shutdown and I turned it on. Phone was in flight mode and I switched, nothing happend. I had to unlock (first ever unlock after boot) to make it work.
Great to find out about the configurable switch! Is there any “What’s new” category where I could subscribe to, not to miss new features (forum category, RSS, …)?
For me the “Sensor Privacy” is the most useful, but I would like to add Bluetooth and NFC to the services that should be turned off. Privacy does not only concern the capturing of sound and image, but also how the phone advertises itself or responds in the physical environment.
