In the GrapheneOS world, there is something called a duress PIN - A secondary pin that you enter to wipe and reset the device when you’re under duress (pressure from police/immigration/you name it to hand over your phone so they can find something to get you for). Given the current state of world affairs, I’d love to have this as a feature. Mostly suggesting this for others, as I like to hope I’m in a location where this would never matter. But then again, wouldn’t we all.
Please note that the goal of /e/OS is the protection against Big Tech surveillance by offering alternatives to Google and by blocking tracker connections etc. So it may be that such a feature (while not bad!) may not be in the scope of /e/OS.
I hadn’t even considered that wiping the phone would be possible using an app, I’d have assumed this had to be done within the OS. Thanks for bringing that up
