I just discovered that the Métro in Paris will use the HCE technology with NFC to replace paper tickets.
In this paper ( FR: https://www.numerama.com/tech/752888-qu-est-ce-que-technologie-hce.html ) it is explained that HCE means Host Card Émulation and allows any app to act as a payement or something else card. No need for specific hw. This was first available in Cyanogenmod, then Android 4.4. So maybe this feature is already in the AOSP tree used for Murena (/e/)OS, isn’t ?
