Since no OTA update to version e-2.1-r-20240606407290-dev-ginkgo has been offered on the system so far, I have successfully carried out a manual update via PC and adb sideloadand, - also ended up in fastboot mode after the reboot.
Now that /e/OS-R will no longer be officially supported in the foreseeable future (as of today, the latest Andrid security update is February 5, 2024), I successfully switched to crdroid 10.5 (Android 14) with MinMicroG.
G7 power âoceanâ had an issue with updater when upgrading to /e/ v2.1. After being notified by the updater something went wrong during the update process. When i tapped âapply updateâ , updater appeared to initiate and download the files well. After that it tried to âfinish installationâ but kept crashing. The weird part is that the updater subtitle said updating even after the crash(es).
Anyway, I grew tired of the automatic OTA route and went to recovery. To my surprise it appears that /e/ shown me that it updated to v2.1 in the header. When i rebooted, the OS made my phone bootloop a bit then stabilized after a manual restart.
Just a note for future releases on the âoceanâ channel.
Is this really out there now for FP4 ?
I donât see here any feedbacks for Fairphone 4 and I tried since 3 days to get the update offer (so pressed the button almost 100 times [In the past you could increase your chance with that]) and I donât get itâŚ
The screenshot shows the query response of the usual OTA update server including the new version. Does the Fairphone 4 use a different server? Possible, but I wouldnât know.
