It is working well with exception of the app store can’t seem to update/install apps from the F-Droid repository, not sure if this is related to the outage as it was also happening just prior to updating to 2.4.1.

Yes it is related to the outage. Open source app download is disabled for now. Do not have an ETA as to when it will be restored.

Hi,
As in the previous version 2.3 I’m still having problems with push notifications only for some apps for example Strava, Element X, Cyclingoo even if I have Push Notifications active and no limitation battery.

Update by recovery-mode and SD-card, because the update-manager do not recognize internet-connexion (same for 2.4.1).
Phone-call, sms, mail, browser are OK.
Brieucs.

everything is fine so far
thanks to the developpers!

Open source apps are back, thanks for the quick fix.
I am having some trouble with Bluetooth and standard calls, though. Pixel 5 with 2.4.1-t-redfin, previously on 2.4, problems started with 2.4. Anyone else?

It looks like the update of the recovery did not go ok, check preferences at updater, update recovery is needed.
Your recovery says 2.3, probably need 2.4

Hello,

I also have a redmi K20.
Your message reads: “Device not rooted."
Did you have to root the smartphone before install /e/OS?
Did you remove the root after installation?

I’m asking because my banking app doesn’t work if the smartphone is rooted.

Thanks for your feedback.

Hey @Fougor

my k20 has never been rooted.

for an installation of e/os you do not need a root.

the only thing you need is unlocking the bootloader.

then it works :+1:

Thank you. I’ll be upgrading to this version as well.

But, I’m getting an error “java.lang.NullPointerException” when I try to import my contacts from my phone.

How can I solve it?

Thanks for your help.

After the update, the Mail app crashes immediately when I try to open it.

Question: can I downgrade to 2.2 (or something else that works) again? Mail is the most important app for me.

Note: 2.2 is what was on my phone when I received it a few days ago from Murena, so I haven’t seen/tried anything in between 2.2 and 2.4.1.

Did you reboot the phone once more already?
If this doesn’t (or didn’t) help, you could delete cache and storage of the App in the Settings, or you could uninstall and reinstall the App.

You can, but because of Android rollback protection it’s a new install of the old version, wiping your data in the process.

Since the big server outage, however, only the 2.4.1 builds seem to be online for the manual install with the official install instructions.

Older builds are still available on the OTA update server, but the format there doesn’t match the official install instructions for your phone. OTA files get applied via recovery instead.

So, not going the downgrading route and somehow getting the App to behave on 2.4.1 instead should be preferrable.

Thanks for your suggestions!

Yes, I did reboot. I also thought about uninstall/reinstall, the second level of standard Android problem solving, but since Mail is a system app under /e/OS, that’s not possible.

But
clearing cache and storage was enough to fix my problem! Thanks again!
