Feedback for v2.5

I do have one oddity.

Why is BlissLauncher listed in Both Allowed and Not Allowed?

If I change the settings in Not Allowed, I end up with two BlissLaunchers in Allowed. They both contain the same settings

I am using UnifiedPush since 2022. I run my own NextCloud instance and do have UnifiedPush setup on NextCloud and use NextPush. It is nothing new for me. Does /e/ UnifiedPush connect to murena cloud for notifications?

Everything’s perfect on our both FP4. Download time was this time super fast (less than 1 min.) Also done and pretty good on my daughter’s GS290.

Thank you!

Thanks - all fine with OpenLauncher
App Lounge works in anonymous mode (partly; doesn’t show recent Signal update while Aurora does)
Also briefly testet: easybank, Thunderbird, Firefox, Signal, keepassDX, freeOTP+, Scotty, Mullvad VPN, Auxio

It’s working well so far.

I guess you had to install an UnifiedPush app on your device? Something like ntfy? This is now baked into /e/OS so you and no other user has to install a second app to use UnifiedPush. You can continue to use your own setup while deleting ntfy and use the OS’s implementation.

It’s a new feature and I guess Murena doesn’t want to roll it out yet. You have to go to Settings > System > UnifiedPush and activate it. I tried it with Element from F-Droid, so a no Google-FCM version, and the app asked me to use ntfy without having the app installed:

The download went super fast this time, I’m happy about three things:

  • we can now set the Mail app to an optimized battery usage
  • the calendar issue with new events is solved
  • Advanced Privacy now allows fine tuning of the location spoofing

Great job!
Still waiting for an update on the cloud outage though.

Update by recovery-mode and ”-SD-card, because the update-manager do not recognize internet-connexion (same with 2.5).
Phone-call, sms, mail, browser, photos, agenda, files, maps, lounge, are OK.
Brieucs.

Update was smooth and without any rpoblem. Everything works as expected as far as I can tell.
Thanks again to the team for the hard work and dedication to the project.
I know we’ve faced troubles lately but I’m proud of being part of the adventure.

Nothing new but there’s this visual bug (top of screen) with Remove animations enabled:

Vendor Name: Fairphone
Device name: Firphone 5
Device CodeName: FP 5
Version of /e/OS: 2.4.1-t
Device: Not rooted

so far everything o.k.
Thank you for this OS.

Same on Fairphone 3, dark mode and all animations disabled.
You have to gently switch the settings screen to the up to show the date and time correctly.
This bug doesn’t occur all the time, I think it depends how “fast” you scroll down the setting apps.
Also I think it was present on previous /e/os versions.

Very fast download, slow-ish installation, very fast reboot. No major issues encountered so far.

The issue with third-party apps and very low image quality still persists, which is very annoying.

I’m trying UnifiedPush support, all seems smooth so far! It’s a very welcome addition. Cheers to the team!

90hz mode (smooth display) is broken again since previous patch.

This is my old bugreport, it is the same issue from back than. It was fixed but reintroduced.
