Feedback for v2.5

Fairphone
Model 4
Excellent - probably the most effective update for a long time. Thanks to the developer team!

Gigaset

Excellent, best and most effective and comprehensive update ever?
Thank you developers!

hey @Amon_Re

which of the devices shouldn’t work? The fingerprint scanner works with me on both devices!

I don’t use the mail APP. I can’t imagine she didn’t work. what shouldn’t work?

The Fingerprint scanner on my motorola g42 doesn’t work, the option to add a fingerprint is’t available to me, the issue with the mail client is resolved after a full wipe, as suggested to another user here: /e/ mail crashes over and over on fp2 after fresh setup - #5 by harvey186, no such luck with the fingerprint scanner, another user also has an issue here

This phone is brand new, it was bought last week.
The upgrade to 2.5, which went smoothly so far, was the first thing I did.
I then installed more than a handful of apps and all work flawlessly.

I then spent a couple of hours trying to setup a WebDAV account without any success. I tried WebDAV, CardDAV, CalDAV on different servers (Synology, Baikal, commercial online)… nope.

Funny enough, I setup the same config on my wife’s Fairphone 4 with e/OS by Murena v2.3 a month ago, without any issues.

I eventually installed DavX5, and 30s later, it was done. I also had to install OpenTasks though, as the task list remains empty in Tasks.

The download was quite fast. Seemed a lot better than with previous versions.
The UnifiedPush is a bit disappointing as it seems not to allow to set own infrastructure. I mean it makes no big sense to have yet another ear on your personal communication, only with new name: murena instead of google. Lets face it: privacy only works if you are (en)able(d) to organize your communication for yourself. Like installing your own email-server (which you can with dozens of server software), install your own cloud (which you can with owncloud/nextcloud), install your own messenger (which you can with XMPP), install your own location service (which you can with mqtt and mosquitto), install your down dyndns (really trivial), and install your own UnifiedPush (which you can with ntfy or some other solutions). The question is: can your mobile os help you with that - which e/os currently cant for UnifiedPush. But compared to the contacts security problem this is really minor.
It would be a lot more important to be able to create contact profiles which you can add to a contact and to apps that act as filters so that some app can only access contacts with profile tags it has access to.

App Launge does not work, no play store apps only open source and pwa

Try deleting app cache and reload. It usually do the job.

I did delete storage and cache already. Anonymous account unavailable…
Worked fine before upgrade

AppLounge is working well for me on Fairphone 3. AppLounge may have some difficulty to work properly sometimes. As a backup and when you have the opportunity, I recommend installing Aurora Apps which is way more stable.
Maybe some well knowledgeable users may help you but have you looked up your Micro G settings ?

IĀ“d like to know that too… I try to set up UP for Molly-UP.
I find UnifiedPush in settings → System (but thatĀ“s about it - the search function on the phone (top of settings) neither finds UnifiedPush nor ntfy)

But as I have no experience with UP in general, I can only assume that there“s something missing.
One can activate UP in the phone system settings (and I find ntfy among system apps), but thereĀ“s no way to define anything beyond UP distributor on/off…
And that is obviously not enough for Molly-UP for which UP does not work.
What am I missing here?

For both holds: App Lounge: anonymous account login does not succeed

It is not stability now but upgrade. It was fine just before upgrade, now app launge simply does not work. I already strongly suggested to efoundation do not upgrade every month unless you can keep quality. You never know what you will get after upgrade. This is problem No1 with e os.

In my case it threw an error too, and it worked after I unregistered and registered again!
Also Molly UP works for me.

All good! Thank you!

Hi,

So the 2.5 update caused my Teracube 2e to completely crap itself inside out. I went to install the update and now it just says to connect the phone to my computer via USB and use fastboot to interface. Problem is, I can’t get fastboot to do anything. My steps so far:

  1. Install platform tools

  2. Connect phone via USB

  3. Boot phone. Get ā€œPlease connect your computer and use fastboot to interface with the deviceā€

  4. Open cmd from the ā€œplatform toolsā€ folder

  5. Type ā€œadb devicesā€ but there’s no list of attached devices.

I can get the device to show up by putting the phone into recovery mode, but it says ā€œunathorisedā€ and I get stuck there. I’ve tried ā€œenter fastbootā€ but then the device disappears from list of devices attached.

Any ideas?
