I’ve tried to update it but got stuck and after reading all the posts on this forum, I don’t really want to update it anymore since it seems it’s way harder than it has always been to do it before. In particular I don’t want to risk any data loss.
@Manoj is there a specific reason why most (according to what I’ve read hereinabove) of the Samsung devices require a full wipe to be updated from T to U? Do you thing this may be fixed in an upcoming release?
FP5 bought in retail market, switched to /e/ OS day one using installer.
OTA update on 2.6.3 (Android 13 not 14 (?) ) on 2.6.3 official on 17 December.
Nothing noticeable, still fluid motion not working great, screen refresh going to 30hz very often, quite annoying…
an option to force 90hz on all application all the time would be awesome.
In general; it will be devices still in manufacturer active development when / after /e/OS Android 13 (T) was built, that are candidates for wipe data when upgrading to Android 14 (U).
But you cannot fully trust general answers, usually the Lineage device page will include upgrade instructions.
By “data” you mean the entire data partition?
Can I save it, swipe the phone and update it, then re-upload the entire data partition from my backup?
I’m sorry, I’m not familiar with all of this data stuff. What I’d like (if possible) is not to have to reinstall apps and/or restore data such as messages (SMS, Signal…) and app config.
I have the following bug while using Facebook Lite on my Moto G7 Power (ocean) with the latest version of eOS. I’ll explain it here, but I’m also attaching a video so you can see it.
I use Facebook Lite to check Marketplace. Here in Argentina, it’s the only “store” to search for second-hand items since mercadolibre.com.ar has monopolized online shopping. Since the last update, the chat in Facebook Lite has stopped working.
App Lounge sends me a notification to install additional modules, but when I accept the notification, it tries to install something and then does nothing. Here is the video with the notification and the bug in Facebook Lite.
Vendor Name: murena e/solutions

Version of /e/OS or Stock which existed previously: the previous regular update (2.5.x?)
Is the device Rooted / Not rooted
Since this last major update to 2.6.3 I perceive some major issues, i.e. more than the annoying little changes coming with any upgrade of the android version.
The main problem is that it is a lottery now to get notified about new messages in the Signal App. Never had this before on this device! Many friends often have this issue on their regular android. I was happy, because it worked fine on my murena fp4. But since this update sometimes I get notified, but more often not! I just get the message notification by opening Signal.
I was suspicious if it might be related to the use of wifi or mobile network, but it is not. Also the change of system profile (sound, vibration ecc.) doesn’t matter. Signal App message notifcation seems to appear (or not) randomly.
Another bug: New photo gallery app seems to put deleted photos into a trash folder. But trash remains empty. So this doesn’t work.
Smaller, but still annoying thing:
On the locked screen there is a small locked key lock icon at the bottom. This is in icy blue in contrast to the color of all the other information. This annoys me totally. I expect it all to be in the same color. Changing the respective settings doesn’t help, just all the other information is changeable. The icon is still annoyingly blueish then.
I confirm the issue on my FP4, but only for pictures that are stored on the SD card.
Previously, the bug only affected the “rotate” and “edit” functions. Now, as it is no longer possible to delete photos directly, the new “move to trash” functionality no longer works.
This is undoubtedly linked to the issue I had opened a long time ago:
For now, no iteration nor ETA is reported.
Workaround: Use “Fossify Gallery” instead which is also free and open source, and works pretty well.
Samsung S8 (950F) switched to Android 12
Correct operation after return to factory parameters
but the basic diary does not send a notification — replace by the Fossify diary (ver 1.1) notification ok (same on a locked screen).
On the other hand, it is impossible to change DNS???
(It was possible in the previous version)
Bonjour,
It is working on our side. The developer just tested. This could be provider dependent. Pl can you DM me the mcc and mnc id and carrier name. Do not share here.
Vendor Name: Sony
Device name: Xperia XZ2 premium
Device CodeName: aurora
Version of /e/OS or Stock which existed previously: e/OS 2.4 T
I have dirty flashed the phone to 3.6.3U, but since some bugs were present I have reset the phone (so just like a new complete install).
I’m VERY happy to report that the second (monochrome) camera now works; it has never worked previously under /e (but always worked on others Roms such as microg Lineage).
However it has some issues
with SIM/network signal: occasionally (rarely) loses signal and than recovers; on first start GSM was not available and it only started working after I enabled wi-fi.
My single-SIM XZ2 premium is “recognised” as a dual SIM one now… of course the second SIM doesn’t work… it’s strange as there are 2 IMEIs reported.
Highest problem is that enabling speaker in voice conversations mutes the microphone… this is an old bug that is present in Lineage also (apart from stock this has never worked for me)
I have no expectations that someone from Murena would try to fix these bugs hence there’s no point in reporting them properly but wanted to warn possible users of these problems.
After installing U I’ve set the phone againg to 4K resolution (it was set when on T); this can be done by following my post here: https://xdaforums.com/t/eol-rom-13-aurora-official-lineageos-20-0.4509475/post-89202827
Thank you to Murena for the effort to keep this wonderful phone “alive”. I have 3 of them: one on /e , one on microg Lineage and one (almost new) on stock ROM.
Fairphone 3+
FP3
Update from v2.5-t-official to v2.6.3-t-official
Not rooted
Update completed in 34 minutes with no issues.
Initial testing of basic functions & apps shows these appearing to be working fine: wi-fi, mobile data, bluetooth, GPS, phone, message, mail, browser, camera, app lounge (common apps) and various other apps.
Just a couple of issues noted:
A cosmetic issue. The background to the app icons that are fixed at the bottom of the screen has reverted to being blurred (no change after a reboot). I much prefer this area to be not blurred as it has been for a number of releases.
An issue that I’ve seen for a number of releases and that others have reported. Maps (Magic Earth) takes a long time to load. Just now it showed a black screen with a spinning circle for 20 seconds before the maps loaded. Sometimes it takes so long that I have to close and restart the app a number of times before it is usable.
10 days after the update I woke up with my phone ‘switched off’.
The battery was almost full, the phone did not respond with the start button, I had to start in fast boot mode and then reboot. It turned on without any problems.
I did a dirty update, I don’t know if that could be the problem.
I am sorry if I come back to my previous posts …
Unfortunately, reading the instructions in Install /e/OS on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e (LTE) - “gts4lv” scares me (since flashing roms and so on is not my stuff, that reminded me about the pain of the first installation on a Sony XA2 5 years ago, and the reason why I decided to ask the support of some other forum mates to get the Samsung Tab S5e ready to use …).
is there any hope that, in the future, there may be OTA upgrades of Android versions?
as an alternative, Easy Installer could be made to work with the S5e in the future, and allow the upgrade of Android versions?
If really there is no hope on the above 2 ways, where can I find stupid-proof instructions to upgrade from e-2.5-t to e-2.6.3-u, knowing that I have never installed /e/OS onto the device myself = I have no tools installed in my PC (running Linux Mint)?
I understand the above request might bother a lot of users in this forum, since everybody looks skilled in the domain of flashing ROMs / understanding instructions, coding, installation procedures, IT tools and so on, but please forgive me, I am simple normal user of /e/OS without all that knowledge.
PS: I have downloaded the zip + img files from /e/OS community gts4lv download for e-2.6.3-u and checked the hash, now my issue would be how to upload them into the device without breaking anything… thank you for your understanding
