/e/OS 3.0-t
Installed with no issues and as far as I can tell, it’s working flawlessly (no issues so far).

As far as I can tell, I’m only on 3.0 (it doesn’t look like 3.0.1 has made it to my phone yet).

That’s interesting.
Neither my phone finds the update (after multiple times refreshing) nor it is shown in the computers web browser on page /e/OS official FP4 download after refreshing.

How did you manage to flash with a locked bootloader on your FP3?

The method in Post #203 does not include this “fastboot step”. The “exchange of slot” should be handled automatically by OTA_PACKAGE alone using those instructions.

We know @mihi that a phone with locked bootloader is always able to accept a “correct” OTA update.

I was more going the route of wondering why fastboot and the limitations with a locked bootloader. Maybe the situation changed of the user since reinstalled, etc. :woman_shrugging::woman_shrugging:

  • Vendor Name Fairphone
  • Device name FP4
  • Device CodeName FP4
  • Version of /e/OS or Stock which existed previously /e/OS 2.9 official
  • device Not rooted

Update went smooth. Battery percentage is regularly updated. Mobile data is working.
I tried the new FindMyDevice. First after receiving the code via SMS I got the message to allow sending an SMS back from my system, because up to now I wanted to prevent any app from sending any SMS without my permission. After allowing 5 SMS per Minute, FindMyDevice automatically sends back the coordinates.
Maybe it is possible to grant SMS without permission in future?

Thank you development team!

addition: after reboot before typing in the pin no answer is sent back. A thieve only needs to turn off the mobile and no one can track it anymore. The good thing: before typing in the pin all data keep encrypted, I think ?

Since e/os 3.0.1 (FP4 A14 Official), my battery level is frozen in e/os, it’s very annoying. I would like to get a solution.

Big problem with hiding IP address in Advanced Privacy. I no longer have an internet connection if I disable this option (exposed IP address). Now, I have to enable this option constantly to go online and for my connection to be established.

Thanks.

Note: The battery level works when the device is charging (via computer or via USB cable only), but it does not work when the device needs to discharge (no USB cable connected). No problem with 2.9 and 3.0 version. It seems something broke when I updated to 3.0.1 following your guide (adb solution).

OTA from 3.0 to 3.0.1 release goes smoothly without any issue with my main apps.
2 issues to be raised ;

  • It seems account management is not fully OK. No mean to use my previous caldav account (I switch from murena to mailo due to server outage). So I have to copy my Mailo data to murena for both my agenda and contacts.
  • I don’t success to use the STT feature. STT is activated in keyboard paramaters and I have the mike little icon when using the AOSP keyboard, but when clicking on it, nothing and no possibility to record/translate to text my voice.

From what I’ve read, voice to text is a subscriber / premium user feature in the embedded way which runs via “anonymizer” / proxy => openAI.

If you’re a subscriber, it should work, but if you’re a free user, I don’t think it should technically work due to verification of “allowed usage”. Else they would’ve just written “It works for everyone including free users”, I assume.

Thanks @Fox for your swift answer. I haven’t notice that feature is for premium user only.
In which post do you see that?

Hi Radprec,

it was mentioned in the Gitlab release notes:

Here’s a screenshot:

From Manoj’s weekly updates, it does not seem that an OTA (“Over-the-Air”) upgrade for the FP5 is immediately imminent, just “to be planned”: Week 24, 2025: Development and Testing Updates

But from the ‘Releases’ page it is:

Difference is Community vs. Official Build:

https://images.ecloud.global/community/FP5/
https://images.ecloud.global/official/FP5/

Community (A14) has /e/ 3.0.1, Official (A13) has only /e/ 2.9, as 3.0 was withdrawn (I assume) and 3.0.1 will follow.
And if there will be an A14 Official, it is at least not listed, yet. The “-A14” extension in GitLab seems to link towards the Community Android 14 builds, as it is not the “Official” letter-extension.

No need to explain build types or OTA OS upgrades to me .

I was just giving a bit more detail info, if urs didn’t check the link in detail.

Yeah, “coming soon” sounds indeed better than “To be planned” :+1:

It seems I can’t get the OTA update, tried refresh more than 100 times over the last 7 day’s
Maybe has to do with the fact I removed MDM because some users had some nasty problems with that.

When does the 3.0-s-2025xxxxxxxx-official-herolte come available via direct download from the site, so I can try with ADB sideload.

Did see the 3.0-s-xxxxxxx-communtity available for some days but has also disappeared.
