Update from e-2.1-r-20250318477379-stable-herolte.zip (TWRP). ==> e-2.9-s-20250321478216-official-herolte (from system updater). ==> e-3.0.1-s-20250609498926-official-herolte (from system updater).
So, from android 11 (2.1 version) to 12 (2.9 version) to 12 (3.01 version).
All working so far. After every update, cleaned cache from apps, and then formatted Cache partition.
In the past, I was able to make a backup using TWRP as a boot loader. This made it possible to decrypt the file system and transfer the data files to USB using commandline. However, some application data and settings would be lost.
I solved the issue — or rather the issue disappeared after I downloaded both images (Fairphone OS and /e/-3.0.1-a14) again, checking their checksums so everything is in order and then flashing via Powershell with admin privileges in Windows instead of GitBash.
Also, I immediately locked the bootloader after flashing /e/. Before, I first began to use it a bit and locked it afterwards. No clue, whether that might have changed something.
I don’t know, what in this solved the issue. If GitBash was doing something amiss (which I doubt) or the images used before not being 100% right (which I cannot look up because I deleted them).
I did not lock the bootloader in fear to brick the phone. I know that it worked for 2 hours when I reflashed the image, so maybe locking it directly makes it work for good.
I will definitively try that out!
Can you send a message in few hours to confirm that it still works? Since I used the phone for a few days now, I don’t want to lose everything if this was a fluke haha
@Manoj, please check this. This is likely the reason Revolut get broken on 3.0 , verified boot state is orange while It should be green. There are basically few major check custom rom should have before release and this is one of them. Instead focus on how to find my device you are shooting “your self in leg” in Murena how make life of e os user more hard then needed. Status was green before. I was repeating about sustainable quality but obviously “you” didn’t get it. Neither you have intention to. I was supporting you, but I can’t any more. This what you do with releases and features and how you act after about server failure is bad. Sorry…

After the update to 3.01, some apps in APP Lounge and Aurora are displayed as “not available for my device” and therefore cannot be installed (e.g. onlyoffice).
Aurora Store and App Lounge both presented me briefly that a new session had to be initiated (DE: „Neue Sitzung wird angefordert”) and since then the issue is there again and persistent. There are now hardly any apps that can be installed or updated.
There is still a problem with this and the Fairphone 5 on /e/ 3.0.1-a14!
Fairphone FP3, not rooted, updated from 2.9 official → 3.0 official
I see others had issues with that, but GPS seems to work
I have issues with multiple apps losing internet access which may or may not be related to push messaging
Signal and Whatsapp both lose connection, this is mostly resolved after rebooting, until it happens again
App lounge seems mostly unable to access internet, on occasions after several reboots I am able to search for an app and install an update but that doesn’t last long
Banking apps do not like that, Vipps stopped working (see here for similar issue) and NordeaID is not working consistently
Other apps e.g. Fennec or the default Browser are working fine, so the problem is not a lack of internet access as a whole
I cannot reproduce the issue as I do not know what triggers it and do not always realize it is occurring (e.g. don’t receive messages for several hours)
It does not seem to be linked to the network source
Neither is it linked to whether or not a VPN is active
Not receiving messages felt it could be linked to microG push notifications, but disabling or enabling those didn’t affect anything
It started occurring within hours after updating to 3.0
I never saw something like that in the 5 years I’ve been using e/OS on this device so I’m pretty sure it’s linked to the update. I would appreciate some fix, I don’t mind some quirks but now I’m effectively not reachable and that’s a bigger problem.
My App lounge is also a bit on and off but one thing have I found out:
Those times I am able to browse or search for apps, I am NEVER able to download (stuck on “Cancel”) any apps with Tailscale VPN connected. If I disconnect Tailscale, taps on “Cancel” and then “Install”, download and installation runs great every time.
