Nice to get the OTA upgrade to A15 but while trying to switch off notifications for Advanced Privacy, which started spamming after the update, I discovered that I no longer am able to access any settings related to the personal profile.

I have a personal and a work profile on my device and under Settings all relevant options for the personal profile, like Installed Apps, Notifications, Authorisations etc. are no longer accessible. The option to switch to the options for the personal profile is still shown in every case, but when trying to switch nothing happens. I will create a GitLab ticket for that bug.

[EDIT]

After a few reboots the problem vanished and settings for the personal profile are accessible again for now. Strange behaviour, but I’m fine with it. Will pull the created GitLab issue.

OK, I didn’t understand. No, I restored FairphoneOS, then I installed /e/OS 3.1.2 community via the command line, but I had these issues. So I switched back to FairphoneOS to install /e/OS 3.1.4 official. Since 6 p.m., I’ve had /e/OS 3.1.2, which is working great.

The Fairphone 6 update from 3.1.4 to 3.2.0 went smoothly. Everything appears to working as it should.

Individual Advanced privacy block notifications started popping up in addition to the weekly digests. A bit annoying due to them not being too useful. Luckily the notification setting allow for them to be disactivated.

With the stock camera app now being included, I was surprised to see that the old camera is still present and it can’t be removed. Not very clean. I can hide it as a work-around because I’m using the Lawnchair launcher, bit still. Please tell me there’s (going to be) a way to remove it. And not only by maybe doing a factory reset.

Finally the addition of settings for the physical switch is much appreciated. Be it with slightly mixed feelings. I’m only interested in using it to set the phone to vibration, but the available switch options are too limited. DnD mode is the next best thing as an option for the switch that is available, but that mode is too restricted to my liking. Please allow for selecting any defined mode.

Just updated from 3.1.4-a13-official to 3.2-a15-official via OTA-Upgrade on a (not rooted) Fairphone 5.
Thank You, everything went well!
The upgrade process was very fast.

Fairphone 6

Update went smooth. Checked out new camera app. Is it normal that i sometimes hear an audible click near the camera assemblies when i switch modes or settings in the new app? It doesnt happen in the old one.

Also, hoping they add the ability to remove the old camera app… and they change something about the advanced privacy always notifying everything is ok. It will turn into a boy cried wolf after a while.

After very long download (4h),

upgraded 3.1.4-a14-..-official-FP5 to 3.2-a15-..-official-FP5 without issues.

One icon (Music app) popped out from subfolder to main desktop.

Pioneer VSX-532 Bluetooth started to work (found, connected) while previously did not find it. A Renkchip cast device HDMI dongle still does not work while another (J5) after dongle firmware upgrade works.

Overall really many things work really smooth, kudos to the team.

just now (01:45) the download speed is 6 MB/s ! It was done within 5 Minutes.

Finally, in the night, the update went fast. 15 Min for all. After it every thing seems to work like before.

Thank you, /e/OS-Team!

In the settings you can switch to 50 mp in both camera apps. But as soon as you close the apps that setting reverts again…

Hi mihi,

thx, I found it.

Manual update - command line, then locked bootloader.

Phone works ok so far, but there is sitll App Lounge issue - after some time it stops being able to download apps from google play store - well known download- retry loop. There are anonymous accounts problems as well.

I am not reporting some apps problems since they are not a part o /e/OS.

All the other works well so far

FP5: Official build from 3.1.4 to 3.2.

Download speed was slow but I was very glad to see that I can now find charging Limit in Settings! So fyi to the fairphone 5 users, charging limit is now available!

Yesterday, I saw the new update to 3.2. It was so slow that I paused it (and I think i deleted the update). Today, I can’t see the new OTA Update. Yes I’ve already rebooted my smartphone.
Fairphone Gen. 6, current 3.1.4.a15-2025095526528-official-FP6, bootloader locked.

What can I do to display the update again, or was there a problem with distributing the update?

Try delete data and cache of the updater-system -app

Updated to 3.2-a15-20251022539003-official-FP5 on my FP5 device (coming from the previous build available OTA for ordinairy users like me). At first glimpse everything looks fine, but I’m having issues with several applications:

  • Spofity (first song plays, then having issues connecting to network, goes to offline mode)

  • Liibre office (says ā€˜not compatible with this version of Android’), but no update available

  • Looking for an alternative, Office 365 gives an error when viewing detais in the app lounge (ā€˜unknown error’)

  • App Lounge keeps sometimes hanging at startup, is in general very slow

  • Many issues with ā€˜Account unavailable’ (the anonymous account you use is no longer available) in App lounge; renew the session won’t work

So in all it looks like incompatibility of non-core apps (core apps like Signal, Brave browser and email all work fine); mostly related to (what seems to me) connection or right issues.
Update: Under ā€˜Advanced privacy’ all apps where selected again for the ā€˜hide my IP address’ option. After excluding some of these here again it resolved issues for some but not all apps.

Thanks, now I see the update again.

Hi @Hase Of course, the camera isn’t my top priority either; what matters to me is having a well-functioning, de-Googled phone. In fact, my own camera still takes great pictures, even though it works only in a very limited way. It does have some excellent features that are currently unavailable.

If /e/OS can’t handle a phone’s hardware perfectly—in this case the camera—that’s a bug that definitely needs fixing. I asked whether all of your cameras work because I’m interested in knowing if this issue affects other Xiaomi devices as well, or just the particular model I’m using. From your answer, I gather that your camera also isn’t functioning as it should.

That’s something the developers need to look into: either resolve the problem in a future update or, if it can’t be fixed, clearly communicate that limitation.

Does someone as issue with proton apps on the 3.2 ?

I cannot open the apps, they crashed or I got an error pass-api.proton.me No address associated with the host name for example.

Proton VPN, Proton Mail, and the Lumo app work perfectly. Proton Pass is also installed (I installed all of these just two updates ago), but I haven’t started using the latter yet. It looks like it would work for me too, if I did use it.
