Hi,
I’m using /e/ 2.7 on a Motorola Edge 20 Pro (pstar) and recently, since 2.6.3 at least, I’ve been also experiencing this very problem: on some apps I’ve been unable to select folders or files because the Files application doesn’t has any interface to do it. The only app which I can’t give up nor find a workaround is Syncthing, and I’ve also found an older thread with the same topic, even so if the solution given there doesn’t work for me. This are two captures: one before selecting the folder to sync (“Directorio”) and one after.
Thanks! The problem has been tackled in Syncthing-Fork (I was using the original unmantained one) There, a small cog by the side of the Folder selection row lets you navigate the filesystem. However, if I click on the Folder selection, the problem persists even in the Syncthing-Fork version.
Sorry for the bump. Even though the specific problem has been addressed by Syncthing-Fork, the general problem persists in at least two other applications: Logseq and Aves. I attached the screenshot of the database folder selection for Logseq, but Aves has had the same behavior when I wanted to delete some photos taken with OpenCamera, and after asking for permissions to the folder (which is the default “OpenCamera” folder on /DCIM)
I’m guessing that is some storage access permission problem, or some inhability of the default Files app to list the paths on the selection screen.
I don’t know how to go on. Should I fill a bug report? And if so, where?
I’m currently using /e/OS 2.8-a14-20250224470211-community-pstar for Motorola Edge 20 Pro.
