In Bern, Switzerland there is this repair cafe https://www.repair-cafe-bern.ch/ at which @raphi and me are planning to regularly help people install users a privacy friendly OS (recommendation for /e/OS).
The next event is on the 06.12.2025. Join us if you need help or let others know if you know someone who needs help installing /e/OS. It is also fine to come over for a chat. The plan is also to ‘expand’ to Zurich if a good partnering event can be found or a suitable location.

Il est fortement conseillé de s’inscrire le plus tôt possible: pour être sûr d’avoir une place, et aussi pour avoir le temps d’être accompagné (par e-mail) en amont: vérifications, sauvegardes etc.

I posted a while ago about this but, would still be very interested in attending / helping out with a UK based flash party. I haven’t got the technical expertise to organise one myself, on my own. And I don’t know how many UK users even exist? I know that we have a member located in Wales and would be happy to travel anywhere within the UK. There are a lot of EU based parties being organised, especially in France so, a UK based one would be a good thing, I think.
With the backdrop of ram/SSD shortages starting to affect the availability of new smartphone, I think the time is right for something like this. A number of UK based mobile service providers such as EE are starting to sell refurbished phones but, refurbished android phones will not be supported for as long as new ones so, eos might be a better choice.

Hey, I would be interested in participating, but I have little technical knowledge and don’t want to mess up my phone! A UK-based one would be good to organise!
I also did some flashing with the Repair cafe we have where I am in France / Val d’Oise, but it’s not flash party as we do all kind of repair, from microwave oven to smartphone screen and some electronic (condensators, screen) and more and more install party for Linux.
