Foundation.e.tasks crashes since updated to v1.4.4

Hello.

Tasks app crashes after freshly update to v1.4.4. Neither clearing cache nor wiping user data of the app makes it usable again.

This occured on /e/OS v3.2, and I have same problem after update to /e/OS v3.3.

Fairphone 5 buyed on Murena shop (june 2024).

Anybody experienced same problem ?

Have a good day

Might be fixed with 3.4 which should be available by now for all as far as I know. But maybe rather check in the feedback:

There have been several reports about Tasks and this fix Week 04, 2026: Development and Testing Updates - #24 by Manoj

Thanks for reply.

I hope bug will be fixed with /e/OS v3.4.

Thanks for reply.

Bug appeared with /e/OS v3.3…I will check with next updates ! I hope it will be fixed !

You asked in three different places … but I think the problem simply arose from accepting an App Lounge system update issued as a hotfix for e-3.4. There is more reading you could do on the subject. Having a more clear warning on the hotfix might have been helpful.

Good luck

App Lounge showed notification to update to Task App to v1.4.4, no warning about /e/OS version requirement.

I will wait for next e/OS/ update.

Thanks for help.

My posts were only edited for feedback

Uninstalling Task v1.4.4 update by returning to factory settings on the app solved problem.

I will wait a while before updating Task App again, even if App Lounge shows notification to do so.

Thanks to everybody for help, and thanks to Murena team for job already done.

I have the same problem and reverted to the factory version as suggested by JimGemini. However within 24 hours the system updated it to v1.4.4 and now it does not work anymore. This is a real pain as I spent 15 minutes typing in all my tasks again since the update erased all of them. Is there anyway to prevent the automatic update pending the /e/OS update ?

On App Lounge, in “parameters” you can disable the checkbox for automatic updates. This will prevent update once you downgraded TASKS App to factory version.

Ok. Thanks.

From what I can see the automatic update checkbox is global (for all apps). Is this correct ?

It’s not really a problem as it appears that I will be notified of the updates and then can decide to install them individually.

Exactly.

Have a good day

This didnt works for me

FP6/FP6, e/OS initial with 3.1, updated to 3.4, non root

Tasks was on 1.4.4, downgraded to 1.4.3.

The Problem i see is, that the Account Manager (davx implementation) has some Problem, but sync as self works.

I cant add or edit connections to the account manager. It opens for a short moment and went back to the acc man view.

Can anyone with the tasks problem add or edit his account settings?

In this thread mostly the posts have been about e-3.2 or e-3.3 where the Tasks 1.4.4 hotfix was “unhelpful”.

If you have e-3.4 then Tasks 1.4.4 is required.

Unhelpful is maybe the right qording

I had 1.4.4 on eOs 3.3… after the update my problem occures.

May i found a better thread.

Regards

Feedback for v3.4 - #265 by Manoj

If your problem has been compounded in an unhelpful way I suggest first to check with a PC that Tasks is fully in sync and up to date on murena.io.

Then you might experiment on your phone to Clear cache | data within Tasks app.

While you reported downgrading the Tasks hotfix you might experiment with uninstall the hotfix, fully power down the phone, restart and try again on e-3.4 to install Tasks 1.4.4.

While on Gitlab:

Edit With reference to Account Manager it may be helpful to Clear cache there.

I hope thats not the case, because i dont own a account

Just for the notes. I allrdy reset cache and storage bevor i downgrade to 1.4.3 on eOS3.4

What i’m looking for is a apk for 1.4.4 because i did not get the update offered in App Lounge.

And i would like to know why the account manager didnt want to work for me on 3.4.

Sync is working as expected.

Same here. AppLounge does not offer any system app updates so no 1.4.4 for me and therefore can’t fix the issue. Devs should provide alternative ways to get apks or at least in cases like this because AppLounge is not reliable.

U can grep it from artifacts.

But this didnt fix the app assignment to open with tasks.

What is that? Grep it?
