Hi, Yesterday i got a new Fairphone 6 with /e/OS. Everything seemed fine at first, I updated to the latest /e/OS version and installed my apps without any issues. However, since today, the phone has started rebooting randomly, even when I’m not using it.
Is there a known fix for this issue or an estimated timeline for a patch? I’ve seen some people mention stability problems with Fairphone devices, and I’m hoping that’s not the case here. I’d really like to keep the phone since I appreciate what Fairphone stands for, but I might just return it if these random reboots continue.
There has been a lot of discussions around this. As far as I got it, for most people this has been fixed with the latest update, but for a few it persists. Did you try the search function?
That is very unfortunate… I read that there are many users having issues with this for a while. On Reddit and here on the forums. Weird that there is no response from a developer at all considering this is a major bug. I guess i will return the phone and not bother anymore then necessary with this mess. Unfortunate…
if there aren’t others reasons, FP6 CountryCodeService reboots are tracked at
CountryCodeService: Rebooting to load Wi-Fi/radio configuration
if you just bought and are not super into debugging, I’d probably return. What country / operator SIM are you using… and are you in another country atm?
I am from the EU and didn’t travel whatsoever. I turned off location services about 10 hours ago and no reboots so far, that might have something to do with it.
the linked changes that made it into v3.1.4 try to not act up when encountering an unknown mcc and spew more log lines giving context.
Though it doesn’t look like devs have something new for v3.2 to address this.
log output could probably help giving an idea what else needs changing. But for users that didn’t enter modified Android world via adb in the first place it’s a hard ask.
