Galaxy S7: No Future?

Hello everyone,

I began to use my Galaxy S7 (herolte) with eOS this year… Great changes! (Thanks Murena)
Except the “problem” with MDM, I am really satisfied (v3.04-s official).

But, it looks that the v3.04 was the last version supported for Android 12… :frowning:
[v3.0.4-s · e / os / 🚀 Releases · GitLab]

Will the Galaxy S7 no longer receive updates? Can we hope to see a v3.1-t, v3.1-a14 or even v3.1-a15 in the Future? (I know, I’m dreaming a little…)
[Btw, I thought the v3.1 will solve definitely the MDM “problem”…]

I’d give it a few more weeks before I start to worry.
The S7 gets official builds, once was available in the e-shop.
Therefore it is on the list for android-version-upgrades unless stated otherwise by e.g. @Manoj.
The current threads that list A15-candidates and succesful upgrades contain (mostly?) the community-build-devices.
It was always clearly communicated that upgrades are meant to happen for official-devices unless technical problems (or missing maintainers or the like) force otherwise.

Also: in the mdm- gitlab-issue the solution is currently planned for version 3.2… which would then be an Android-version above “s”/12 because release notes states that 3.04 will be the last one on “s”/12.

Danke!
What you’re telling us (and @Manoj)can only make us optimistic for the future!

The s7 was released way back in 2016.
Unfortunately a lot of devices end up being out of sync with latest OS versions. Which is a way vendors keep getting us to buy new devices.
We try our best to upgrade the devices to the latest OS versions and will definitely try with the s7 as with the other devices which we sold at some time on our shop. If we fail in our attempts to upgrade the OS the information will be shared with all, on this forum.
