I would like to download an app that I have already paid for on Google to /e/os. If I understand correctly, I would need to enter my Google account details in microG to do this. I am not sure whether I will still be able to use my mobile phone without a direct connection to Google or whether this data will be encrypted in some way so that I can install the app.

speaking from experience, i had an app that i paid for on google, when switching to e/os. i logged into microG from my same google account, the app showed up on my aurora store, which i installed, logged in, and then logged out of microG (personal preference, i prefer to use aurora on anonymous account). so yeah that could be a solution, just to log in as a one time thing and after the app is there, log out of microG again later. if that’s a similar situation.
