Have updater use downloaded zip

Hi! My device has an available update e-2.4-s-20240924436897-official-herolte shown in the updater, but the updater gets stuck downloading the file. Tried multiple times with different connections to no avail (my phone has had a very buggy internet connection ever since the e os update to android 12, with some apps not understanding that I am connected to the internet)

So I went to /e/OS stable herolte download and downloaded the zip file as well as the recovery image on my laptop. Is it possible to place these files somewhere the updater will find them and install the update?

Cheers!

Well yes if your version of Updater allows “Local Update”

Look for it by opening the updater > 3 dot top right menu > Local update.

You should point the Updater to the main ROM only, e-Recovery is expected contained within the ROM and is installed if “Update recovery” is selected from Preferences within the above menu.

Thanks for your response! My updater didn’t have any of these options, so I ended up doing the update manually - it worked out well but sadly didn’t fix any of my connection issues. Thanks for the clarification about the e-Recovery, I was confused about that.
