Having recurring issue on copy and pasting in default browser

I had this issue on Fairphone 3 and now on my new Fairphone 6, not rooted, running 3.1.4-a15-20250915526528-official-FP6.

Someone poses a question on a Discourse based forum. I search for answers in a new tab, select relevant text, select copy, but when it comes to paste it offers things like translate with DeepL and 3 other options, none of which are paste. I don’t have this issue ever in SR Iron browser.

Just to add this is an intermittent issue, but still annoying.

is the issue “paste / insert” being unavailable or just not visible as described at Un readable context menu text in some apps ?

Paste is not available. I don’t use inverted colours/dark mode.

I have seen this behaviour. I will try to capture a screenshot but it seems to me as if the “Context sensitive” menu fails to detect the expected “context”.

My workaround is to use a keyboard with Ctrl that is Unexpected keybboard, juloo.keyboard2 – now ^V will paste when required.

Here an example, clipboard was certainly loaded for paste, but not offered.

^V managed the paste.

I think, in this example, it may well be a user issue.

I the device expects “Tap” for Context A and “Press” for Context B, dry fingers, for instance, may produce “the wrong sort of Press”.
