**R**Hello everyone, I’d like to start by introducing myself.
My name is Antonio and I’m from Spain. I’ve always loved technology and have dedicated my entire professional life to it.
I have a strong social commitment and like to participate in as many charitable activities as I can.
This includes using GNU/Linux on all my devices, and I’ve now taken the plunge and ditched Google and my Pixel 9 Pro for a FairPhone 6 with Murena.
I’ve just started and I have as many doubts as I do expectations, but in general I can already enjoy the phone without any major inconveniences. The list of operational apps is long (Telegram, all the Proton apps, Sygic, Mastodon, Substract, Firefox, official government services in my country, banking, etc.) and, thanks to being an adaptable person, I didn’t mind replacing some apps with other free software apps that I found in the App Lounge store.
My only slight inconvenience now is that since the system update on December 10, I can no longer move music directly to the external card, as I did before. But I’ll keep investigating or I’ll format it and start over.
Well, I apologize for the length of this post and my English translated by Deepl.
I have music on my SD card but, I don’t add to it very often. Also, I have stayed using e/os 3.2 due to as it would have been inconvenient right now for me to have any issues with my phone. I intend to upgrade to 3.3 next week. I will test moving some new music to my phone, afterwards and let you know if there is a problem. I am assuming that you connect your phone to a laptop / computer to do this? If so, which Linux OS did you use, as an upgrade or update to that might have caused the problem.
I use my desktop computer with Debian 13 Trixie (stable) and KDE Plasma 6.3. The first thing I did when I bought the memory card (Intenso 250 GB) was to send several music files (both mp3 and Flac) via KDE Connect. This puts them in the phone’s memory in the Downloads folder, and from there, using the Files app, I moved them to the Music folder on the Intenso card. The system’s native Music app recognized and played them perfectly.
After the update, when I tried to do the same thing, it didn’t move the files and an error message popped up, leaving the files in Downloads. I have tried several things, such as splitting local devices in the Music app, clearing the cache and storage, etc., without success so far.
Otherwise, the update was successful on my FairPhone 6, even fixing a problem with my electronic certificates that were not working before.
