Help, please somebody, I need Help (Fairphone 6 E/OS)

Hello everyone,
I’m a newcomer, so I apologize if I’m not doing things by the book.

I recently purchased a Fairphone 6 (Google) and would like to install E/OS on it.

Method 1: Web Installer
I followed the procedure up to step 7 on this website: /e/OS Installer

But at the end, despite installing Android Studio, Google USB drivers, etc.,

It bugs at step 7 / Screenshot 1 > everything seems fine, but nothing shows up on the phone,
and when I click anywhere on the site again > Screenshot 2, error message.

The thing is, no software is using the Fairphone, my cable is good, and Windows recognizes the phone since I can access it.

Method 2: Install /e/OS on a Fairphone The Fairphone (Gen. 6) - “FP6”
I then tried this procedure, but when I got to step 5, “Unlocking the bootloader” > Reboot into fastboot by running the command in the PC console adb reboot bootloader, I also got an error message > Screenshot 3 even if windows detect the phone (screenshot 3b)

If any kind soul could help me out, I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks to everyone.

Looks like … [Solved] Windows does not see my phone in Fastboot mode ??

Many thanks @aibd !!

"I was able to make progress in the process… but unfortunately, step 14/31. Everything was going fine, and I received the error message again. I followed the procedure step by step, and since the issue was resolved in the previous steps thanks to your link, I don’t understand why I am getting the same error message again

Hello, you should not use the online installer with the Fairphone 6, it is not compatible yet. What you call ‘method 2’ is the only method that works for now. Given that the 3.1.4 update should go up in less than 24 hours (no guarantee, I’m not a developer), you really should just wait before installing a version that might have feature breaking bugs.

Also, be mindful of FRP. You can read this thread.

Did you continue with Device manager open?

… But I thought your first message was to do with “Device not supported” eosinstaller and your “Method 2” was to do with the CLI install method. ??

If you feel like going ahead, you will not be able to install any of the problematic withdrawn builds. Currently stable is probably one before “Latest” that is IMG-e-3.0.4-a15-20250708507307-official-FP6.zip.

Plenty of preparatory reading is a good idea.

Ok… f**** … I’m lost between step.
Good news, phone boot on factory ROM I guess.

Thanks for advise, I should wait.

Device Manager not open

Method 1 : try the simple web installer
Method, fallow those steps : Install /e/OS on a Fairphone The Fairphone (Gen. 6) - “FP6”

Prefer Method 1…but doesnt work for me

Sorry, I seem to have been unclear … we had crossed posts as well

fp6 is not supported by eosinstaller.

Why did I mention Device manager being open? Because it is recommended in my Drivers link, in case similar looking errors reoccur.

Why the official website say that’s OK for Fairphone 6 with e/Os Installer ?

I just want an light OS (without any tracker / Google etc.) for my Fairphone 6 :smiling_face_with_tear:

If FP6 is now on eosinstaller … then you will not see “Unsupported device”, you will see a screen proposing to install to FP6, you accept and it moves on, perhaps now follow the Drivers link advice to keep Device manager open to see if the new “stall point” is fastbootd.

Alternatively perhaps it is USB cable, must be good quality data cable, avoid USB hubs and connect to USB port on PC soldered to the motherboard.
