I tried the new Backup & Restore feature (phone backup into the Murena cloud).
I have offline maps apps with a few GB of downloaded maps. It seems the backup is uploading these as well. Now my 1 GB Murena cloud space is totally full and I get the warning message about this all the time. But it does not offer me to clear up the cloud, just to buy a data package.
How can I remove a (partial) phone backup from the cloud?
How can I exclude app data or certain apps from any future backup?
a folder is created in the base directory of your remote space for the backup at
/.AndroidBackup
if you delete that permanently (empty the trash), at best the free disk space should recover.
In the past, both the web info stats on available space and the device side widget took time to update that status. You might need to reboot the latter.
The upstream package to foundation.e.backup (Seedvault) was able to do device local backups and also exclude on an app-by-app basis. I think this could come back to the downtream version.
I’m having new backup issues as well. Apparently you can turn backup on, but you can’t turn it off. All I did was click on backup menu, then it asks for Murena Workspace password (I didn’t enter it - just backed out of menu) and now every day I get error message about failed backup. Apparently no way to turn it off!
I then thought, I’ll try to set up backup, then turn it off, so I tried moving forward by entering password. Now it tells me password is wrong (which I know is not true because I just checked via my computer web browser). So I can’t move forward and I can’t move back. Still getting daily nag notices for failed backups I didn’t ask for. Any advice?
