Thank you. I will investigate but first I think that I will have
to decide to remove root because I am afraid that all the banks
will have the same policy soon or later.

Hi,
Just had the same behaviour with CIC on a new phone (santoni/Pie) and get it working

In Settings/MicroG/“Google Cloud Messaging” the status was disconnected.
Maybe no app can register in this state ?
I ran the adb root command as described here : https://github.com/microg/android_packages_apps_GmsCore/issues/660
Then conducted a test using a very useful app : https://github.com/bbindreiter/PushNotificationTester_App

After some tries the app managed to register with Google Cloud Messaging, and the status changed to “Connected”

Then I re-installed the CIC app and everything went smoothly
I can now see CIC as a registered app for push notifications in MicroG.

I forgot to mention : SIM with no data access, WiFi only.

Hope this can help !

BTW (I know, not related with banking apps), activating the MicroG push system also allowed me to use Microsoft Authenticator app (restore from cloud).

Maybe some other problems are related to this Google push system, and we should start a new forum thread about it ?

Hello!

I just wanted to report, that I have successfully used this guide with my banking app.
The app is for ING Bank Romania, called ING Home’Bank.

Cheers!

Hi I confirm that the UK Triodos bank app from Aurora works on standard /e/ without Magisk.

I can confirm that french bank CIC app is working out-of-the-box (if you have problems with notifications, see previous posts).
So french bank Crédit Mutuel app should also work

I had to install Magisk for another purpose, then CIC app refuses to launch.
To have my banking app back to work, I installed BusyBox & MagiskHidePropConfig Magisk modules.

Good morning, Xiaomi Mi 8 I followed the guide of @ harvey186, Magisk and BusyBox installed, my Italian bank apps don’t work,
SafetyNet API is always error, maybe I should run this “https://github.com/DeicPro/xiaomi-safetynet-fix”
or other advice.

Thanks

A lot of banking apps won’t work. The saftynet will always fail, because of microG.

Have you tried without rooting your device. ?

hi harvey186, I have Settings / Security / Trust / Root Access / Disabled, do you say this?

No, if you have used the howto, you have installed magisk. That’s for rooting. And alit if apps are checking that. So you can try without magisk installed.

Uninstalled Magisk, bank app doesn’t work

yeah, it’s a pain. As you can see here and in telegram group, a lot of banking apps aren’t working with eOS :frowning:

Thanks for reply, it always remains a splendid OS

@boldrek perhaps try this - it will take time but if everyone does it, it’s the best in the long run!

ps some banking apps are working fine, e.g. BUNQ - i can recommend it, it’s really a whole new banking experience, it’s like all the IT-smartness that we’ve seen developed over the past 20 years applied in a banking app
