Installer stuck at step 13 Installing

Hello community,

First, thanks for your work and your contribution to this great out-of-google mission.

I finally decided to dive into e/OS/ with a CMF Phone 1.

The web installer is stuck at step 13, with a never ending “Installing, be patient”

I already tried yesterday with the same problem and turned off the phone after 3 hours.

The phone restarted with the orange state and came back to the original Nothing OS.

I do the installation from a LinuxMint PC.

Any suggestion? What should I do or redo?

Hello @bego, Welcome to the /e/ forum.

So the bootloader is already unlocked, you can now have a go installing /e/ on your tetris : Install /e/OS on a Nothing Nothing CMF Phone 1 - “tetris”

Thanks for your quick feedback.
So you mean I should do the command procedure instead of the web installer, right?
I am not an expert and was a bit reluctant of doing so, but I’ll try and let you know.

Yes you should, as so many users comes here to complain about the web installer not working as expected…
Installation using the script method is working for sure and finally easier.

What OSes can you run on your PC ?

My PC is on Linux Mint 22.1.
If it would be easier, I can access to MS Win 11

No,
Linux is better in most case,
Windows is only necessary for Stock OS installation on some Brand.

It worked. I did it! But actually, it was not as complicated as I thought. Your step-by-step is quite simple for a newbie like me and the script works perfectly.
