I have an old Samsung galaxy Tab A8 (2019) go to wifi.
I would like to install eOs on this tablet, but i use Linux Mint 22.
In the installation doc, i will see only the Windows doc.
I have no problems to install windows as a dual boot, but thats not what i want to do.
I have rest the tablet tot Android 9 and downloading the image eOs 2.6.3.
The device is set up to developer mode and unlocked the OEM.
With the power up+power butten i can boot to Recovery mode en the bootloader version is T290XXS3ATF1
I have downloaded the ADB android tool for Linux, but is there anyone who can help me out?
Do i really install windows? (i hate Windows/Microsoft)
First of all i did install Flatpak and then installing Samsung Galaxy flasher.
I also downloaded the latest firmware version that you discribe above as a .Zip file.
When i run Samsung Galaxy Flasher.
In the settings i can select a flash tool like Odin4 or Thor.
But then its asking for aan Odin4 Executable.
It sounds a little bit strange but do i first need to install Odin4?
If someone is still interested in an old Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 2019 ¨¨go to wifi"then they can it it over from me.
this tablet was from my brother but he gets a new one on his birthday.
I had the idea to try to flash this tablet with eOS, but for me and because i have Linux it cost me to much time and i dońt use this tablet anymore.
With the tip above i have already updated the phone with the latest firmware and the tablet is installed with Android 11. (there are no version updates anymore from Android for this tablet)
So if i can make someone happy…please let me know or it goes to the garbage.
.
(step 2)
Allow OEM unlock and USB debugging in the -->settings → developper options
(step 6)
boot it into download mode
click the button that the onscreen instructions correlate to “Device unlock mode” and/or “Unlock Bootloader”.
Thank you very much for your explanation but I will not do this again.
This all sounds way too complicated to me and I have no idea why I should spend more time on this.
So I come back to my early question…
If anyone is interested in this tablet then he can take it over for the shipping costs and otherwise it will end up in the trash.
