Is Osmand plus in App Lounge?

I just changed Android 13 for /e/os and it’s working very well. I´d hoped to bring the app Osmand+ for which I payed / have a subcription. I can’t find the app in App Lounge. Is there a way to get the app on my /e/os fairphone?

Hello Padu and welcome here !

If you try changing the setting for opensource only, do you find it ?

Thanks Didou for the quick respons!
It shows less apps, but no Osmand +, only Osmand~ and Osmand parking…
Do you have any other suggestions?

There is an ongoing problem with the App Lounge not being able to access Play Store apps, see

However, I would not be sure you would be able to confirm your payments for Play Store apps through the App Lounge anyway. I would suggest to get in touch with the Osmand people and describe the general issue. Given it’s an open source project, I could very well imagine they are willing to help you in some way – if you can somehow prove you paid for their app.

OsmAnd~ is OsmAnd+, just built by F-Droid (https://f-droid.org/packages/net.osmand.plus/ ← the package name shows it’s the + version) and thus available for free.

If all else fails … by paying something for it you’ve done more than most OsmAnd~ users in the know, I guess. Just use OsmAnd~ from now on and feel proud of your support.

(As for why it is available this way, my best guess would be here.)

App Lounge seems o.k…
I found all the other (paid) apps. Just missing OsmAnd+.
Anyone a suggestion?

Just in case you missed it because we posted simultaneously … OsmAnd~ is OsmAnd+, see above.

Sorry Elk, I missed that!
The reason I have the + is the unendless downloading of maps (and the updates of that maps). Is that the same in ~?

It is the same (if you mean unlimited), see the description text at F-Droid.
(And I myself use it and can confirm this  .)

Thanks Elk! It’s working great. Hope I don’t get lost in the Alps…
But why is it all free?

It’s because the app is developed under a FOSS licence. Anyone can built the code for osmand+ and distribute it for free. Getting it from the Play store supports the developers finacially.

Here’s a list of the different builds … https://www.osmand.net/docs/technical/build-osmand/how-to-compile-the-android-version#gradle-tasks–flavors

OSMand~ is the same than OSMand+ but outside from GooglePlay and without any limits for free.

Thanks for the info Elk!
