[LIST] Devices to get a /e/OS U or Android 14 build

I think the term “official” is now reserved for Murena’s /e/OS builds for devices they sell (or used to sell). These builds used to be called “stable”.

As far as I know, “Unofficial” is, well, an unofficial label. Perhaps someone can clarify if “unofficial” is still different from “community” builds (as I would guess) or not. For “Official” vs. “Community” (the latter previously called “dev”) builds, see https://doc.e.foundation/devices.

Will it be the case for samsung S7 as it used to be sold by murena ? There’s not official A13 rom currently existing…

I expect so as the phone was sold in the shop and…

Unfortunately this is waaaaay beyond my knowledge of Android.

What I do want to express here is that Murena needs new(er) and actual devices to stay alive. Maybe put a little dramatic, but still. I mean it’s nice that a OnePlus 3 from 2015 is still supported, but to some people speed and camera quality are important. That’s what I’m saying.

‘Unofficial’ is is still different from Community’ - check out this page:

https://doc.e.foundation/build-status.html

  • Official and Community builds are
    • built and tested by /e/, using /e/'s build servers
    • made available OTA and on /e/'s and download server
  • Unofficial builds are
    • usually built by members of the community not employed by /e/, on their own build machines
    • build using /e/OS source code with no modifications
    • sometimes tested, sometimes not,
    • made available in different places
    • mostly don’t get OTA updates
  • Custom builds are the same as Unofficial builds, except they may have modifications: changing or removing certain apps, including other apps

Maybe it will get it at a later point. It is a ‘first’ list

I was happy to see this:

So if a device is not listed here, we can assume it is end of life or will no longer receive updates and time to start searching for a replacement?

Is there specific model numbers for these?
For example, will any Google Pixel 8 work?

Awesome, thanks.
Not sure if there is any advantage with A14, but would be nice to see refreshment.

What about the murena devices ? Has the list been shared already ?

I believe @Manoj said this list doesn’t include devices sold by e
