The version of Magic Earth that comes with /e/os is not the latest, subscription based version. It has not been automatically updated in /e/os for some months now, either with os updates or by App Lounge.
You could update to the subscription version, should you want to, by searching for Magic Earth in App Lounge, then applying the update. I’ve no experience of how the subscription version works in /e/os.
On the other hand, if you want to stay on the non-subscription version then you need to avoid any automatic updates such as might happen if you were to install Aurora Store. Here you’d need to make sure to blacklist Magic Earth.
There’s a lot more discussion here Magic Earth /Magic Lane . The proposed replacement map app is mentioned towards the current end of that discussion, with links.
Simply use aurora store to delete the entire Magic Earth app, after deleting, the original free Magic Earth app will automatically return in your system.
Maybe another deleting method will work too, but this is the way I restored my original free version of Magic Earth without a pay wall.
After the update 3.5 FP3 the app store wasn’t working and I installed Aurora store. There were around 10 updates and I updated all. One of them was Magic Earth. The new version of Magic Earth didn’t work and I wanted to go back to the eOS version of Magic Earth. I installed 7.1.25.34, it’s working but he cannot download maps. What is the best way to make it work again.
All connections are good, even when i switch off VPN and Private DNS I have the same messdage.
