Trying to activate a work profile. Downloaded Company Portal, logged in via my companies credentials, all OK until I need to register the device. At the second step I am given a brief error message saying this couldn’t be completed. I checked MicroG settings in the new work profile and as soon as I access the Work Profile section of MicroG, the screen flashes (like someone is pressing a button really (really) fast and the system is saying No even faster) and doesn’t allow the toggle to ‘Allow’ the work profile.
It might just be me lol, but I’m wondering if it’s this option which is not allowing me to register the device.
I’m not sure if this is the case here but my company does not allow the registration of Android devices without a Google account. It’s likely that if I did add one to Micro G I’d be able to log in through my phone but I have decided not to do that.
Yeah we’re OK it’s allowed on iOS and Android…. even the device registered as ‘Android Device’ so I’m thinking it’s OK. Just can’t get past the work profile button.
I got this to work by going to the settings app that is placed in your work profile. If you than go to that work profile switch, the screen is not flashing and you can enable it. It than proceeded to register file and was compliant in the Intune Portal. I didn’'t get the required apps running though. On android, they are installed through a locked down play store
No joy yet… I’ll try again in a week or so (too many attempts at registering flags up as activity and gets labelled a security issue within the organisation here). Will report back
