Murena CMF Phone1 randomly freezes

I recently received a Murena CMF Phone 1 and I used Seedvault to transfer my settings and apps from my previuos Murena Pixel 5. I am having trouble with the phone randomly freezing with no warning (sometimes is does get laggy for about 5 seconds before it freezes, other times it just instantly freezes). It doesn’t seem to be when I’m using any particular app and my only option at that point is to hold down the power button until it reboots. This is happening about once a day.

Are there any logs I can check to see what is causing this to happen? Difficult to determine if it’s OS related or if one of the apps are misbehaving. Never had this problem at all with my Pixel 5.

Try a factory reset. You will lose all your personal data and settings, but it might solve the problem …?

Thank you for the suggestion. I will do that if I have no other option. If I experience the problem with a blank device then it narrows it to either OS or a bad device. However, I was hoping there might be something a little more surgical I could try first.

if you can reproduce the freeze it with specific actions it’s easier to weed through the loglines to what is relevant.

There’s adb logcat when tethered to a pc/laptop to read them or [HOWTO] log app errors with LogFox on-device to create bugreports

When the next freeze happens you could scroll through LogFox afterwards and check the Warning and Error lines - W and E prefixed

Unfortunately I haven’t been able to catch it with any of the logging suggestions above. Seems to happen most frequently when I use the finger print sensor to unlock the phone. I have never had it freeze when entering my PIN to unlock the phone.

Same on my Murena CMF1

Got the same Issue. It randomly freezes when taking a photo with GCam (that happens quite often), using Firefox or doing other random stuff.

Which navigation type do you guys use? I had the three buttons nav style active and experienced lag or dysfuncion when switching to “open window view” which also caused my systemview to hang sometimes.

I currently have a workaround: I enabled 2 buttons navigation. No lag and no freeze since then.
