Version 4.1.1 of /e/OS includes a new password manager. Great!
Since the update, it’s definitely possible to use this service for auto-fill. But I haven’t been able to find a way to display the app on the home screen. That’s a shame, because it’s convenient to look up your passwords on your phone to fill out a form on your computer.
Do you know if it’s possible to display the default password manager just like any other app?
For now, I’m using Nextcloud Password (com.hegocre.nextcloudpassword), which is available on Applounge.

New password manager, new documentation 
Thank you for your response. However, the documentation refers to cloud-based password management, not to the /e/OS Passwords app.

The app actually seems to be based on Nextcloud Passwords: GitHub - hegocre/NextcloudPasswords: Secure app for viewing passwords for the Nextcloud Passwords app. Supports end-to-end encryption. · GitHub
I would have liked to be able to use /e/OS Passwords directly to view my passwords, rather than only being able to access them when entering a password on a web page through the browser. The application isn’t accessible via an icon on the desktop. It’s just a system service for auto-filling passwords.
So I’m forced to install Nextcloud Passwords separately as a standalone application.

I totally agree; having an icon on the homescreen would be awesome!
You probably already know this, but you can get to it in Settings > Passwords. I hope a more direct way is added soon though!

Great! Thank you. I hadn’t realized I could access it through the settings. Even though the access could be improved, I no longer need to install Nextcloud password.

@europano The browser has a password list which has saved me a couple of times. I just checked- a big long list

You can install next cloud password on your desktop computer to avoid having to type manually any password
The goal is to have a multi device synchronisation of passwords like you would when using a web browser integrated password manager, working on both desktop and smartphone
