I can’t hear anything on a phone call.
My correspondent hears me but on my side, I do not hear him.
if I put on the speaker the audio comes through
if I plug in a headphone (just TRS) the audio comes through the earbud.
I can’t find any solution on this forum neither on the teracube discourse
(I can see that several thread asking help about the same problem).
I have a teracube 2e SN 2021 with /e/os 2.5 s emerald.
I already try all these steps:
Goto Settings > Apps & notifications > Search for “Phone” > Clear Storage
Soft reset
Backup and factory reset
But the problem persist.
I’d like to able to make phone call with my phone, any help is very much appreciate.
You might use the app Checkup, community.fairphone.checkup, it should work on most devices. This will allow you to check both Ear and Rear speakers in case it is a hardware problem.
Just one, likely stupid thought: sometimes phone auto-connects to bluetooth headphones nearby and then I wonder, why I am mot getting audio output. Disabling bluetooth while testing would rule out this factor…
Unfortunately, that’s not the issue. I and other people here in the forums have had the same problem, as well as a couple of XDAforums and Reddit users (which I won’t link here, but they can be easily found by searching).
For me, two different fixes seemed to work, but only for a short while:
Making an XMPP and/or SIP call restored normal functionality, but later the problem returned.
More recently, reinstalling the same build brought back the audio, but that didn’t last, either.
Call audio is still not working on my Sony.
EDIT: I should note that I’m using a different ROM now (not /e/OS), and although the audio was restored when I switched to the new ROM, the problem eventually returned.
thank you for your answer.
I forgot one detail, in my description.
Most of the time, I can’t hear my correspondent but sometimes for no reason (no reboot, no change on anything) the audio works and I can use my phone normally.
That’s why I don’t think of an hardware issue (but I can be wrong about this).
I will check with the app Checkup just to be sure.
Thanks for the advice.
I have already read the threads you share and many others (and you were present on many of them).
I’m sorry to read that you still have the problem (you seem to have spent some time looking for a solution, it’s not really reassuring).
Do you think it could be a hardware issue?
Which would appear from time to time
