Apparently this phone should support stereo audio, but it doesn’t seem to work, at least music player doesn’t produce stereo output.
LineageOS appears to have enabled the feature a couple of years ago
(Note if you notice this duplicates part of Audio Problems: Galaxy s9+ e0.16 android 10, it is because I’m splitting that into one post per problem for better visibility and focus)
I have tested this further using function generator app (loaded via f-droid nearby share)
There is in fact stereo audio, but the left channel which comes out of the handset speaker at the top end of the phone is very quiet. So, this is probably the same problem as Low phone handset volume
So I just found out about the Audio balance setting in the Accessibility Settings. (From here
Attached image shows how far to the left I have to put the balance to get approximately balanced stereo out of the two speakers. Overally, I have to put the volume up to maximum for stereo to be audible…
