Either deactivate WPA3 in the Fritzbox or Manually connect your FP5 to your fritzbox and select WPA3 (manually meaning adding a Network, type in the regular name of your network and then select WPA3 as an Option).
I deactivated WPA3 for the time being on my 7530.
EDIT: Just to add for completion, it is not a 2,4/5Ghz issue. I tried that too seperately. And the issue is also present on Lineageos.
Interestingly enough, it was fixed for me, when I turned on 2 wifi networks (2,4 Ghz and 5 Ghz) and use the 5Ghz one (I also use a FritzBox). My phone still denies to connect with the 2,4 Ghz network.
I have exactly the same problem here, and - inspired by Aetherium’s reply - played with my FritzBox WiFi settings. The solution for me has turned out to be the following one: 2.4 and 5 GHz channels on, but both with WiFi 4.
Can only agree: strange behaviour. Did not have any WiFi problem with Android 14 at all. Well, whatever the reason: it’s working again, and that’s all we all want
Today I switched on my FP5, and again there was no connection to the internet. The strange thing is that the phone ‘sees’ my wifi, but cannot connect. Behind the name of the network it says ‘Saved/Disabled’. To add something to the list of absurdities: the phone does connect with a nearby hotspot of my Internet Provider and to my Guests Network, although the former connection is a lot weaker than the one to my own network.
I wonder if I am almost the only one to have this problem with /e/OS 3.2-a15-20251022539003-official-FP5.
A smartphone without a reliable internet connection is nearly useless today. You cannot even download a bugfix, should one be available. If this persists, I consider either flashing the previous (working) version of /e/OS to it or to switch to a different Custom ROM.
Very interesting info indeed. I was thinking of either giving iodé a try, check out the community /e/ OS version or going back to the previous version with Android 14. Or this whole thing is an FP5-specific problem?
At any rate it would be great if the error messages would be more verbose on the reasons for the failed connection… It is all the more confusing, because the phone does connect to other networks, just not to my default one.
I have an FP4 with iodéOS 6.9 based on Android 15 which has no wifi problems at all as a backup mobile.
