While trying to install /e/OS on Oneplus Nord, I get a similar issue to this post:
I don’t know how to fix it, and what it could be about. After running the command on Windows to run the script, it goes to the fastbood menu, and the terminal is stuck in waiting for connection from the phone or something.
The phone has Android version 12, has been deleted of all data, bootloader is unlocked.
Assuming you fully took in the drivers point in the linked post, including the possibility of further drivers for Fastbootd (mentioned there) perhaps you could share the terminal output.
Meanwhile does it look like the script made some progress then stopped? Did you see fastboot mode at some earlier point?
Yes to the above might point to a USB problem.
Perhaps look at the whole USB chain. It has been reported that certain USB will not carry fastboot commands or complex fastboot commands. You will need a good quality (full capacity) data cable, so not a thin, skinny cable.
Avoid USB hubs including any USB hub that might be hidden in the PC / laptop.
Avoid a USB-C to USB-C cable as it may be provisioned through a hidden hub.
For predictably good results check (if necessary with a manual) that you are connecting to a USB-2 port soldered to the motherboard.
Fastbootd.
Git Bash terminal:
”Do you want to look for a OnePlus Nord again? [(Y)es/(n)o]: Y
INFO: One OnePlus Nord in fastboot mode found (serial number: 123456).
INFO: Switching device to fastbootd mode…
Rebooting into fastboot OKAY [ 0.002s]
< waiting for 123456>
I’m using original USB-A to USB-C cable from OnePlus. It can handle moving data and not just charging.
Seems like some drivers where found when on fastbootd menu and checking Windows Update, installing them now and testing. I did install some drivers earlier during the guide and assumed it had installed all it needed.
Now it says “Fastboot Mode” but doesn’t open the same fastbootd menu anymore. Top left corner also says “..any key to shutdown”, not sure if it said it before. Terminal says < waiting for 123456>
Reboteed PC, probably doing it the first time during this /e/OS installation process.
/e/OS installation command worked, I somehow got to fastboot screen or menu, maybe stopped it accidentally or it rebooted itself. Ran the command again, waited, installation finished, “INFO: You can unplug the USB cable now.” And I got Welcome to /e/OS.
So what fixed it:
Probably rebooting after installing every additional driver through Windows Update.
