a allowlist to exclude certain apps from the timelimit would be helpful. For instance having a 2h timelimit configured, but Signal is usable without limits to be able to contact the family even if the timelimit has reached.
I also would like to see this (in my case for a public transport app which should be excluded from the timelimit). In addition it should also be possible to include system apps in the timelimit, for example messages (SMS) (which is used to keep on messaging to friends when the timelimit for other messaging apps is exceeded).
I second that. I am seriously considering moving my kids phones to e/ for taking back their privacy from google, but screen time is a feature which is really important for parents and still needs some work. For minimal viability, I think that that you need:
a) what is stated in this thread - a method to exclude some apps from the screen time restrictions. This should be easy as some apps are already excluded, so it just needs to be exposed to the user. Travel apps and so should always be availiable
b) some method of extending the screen time temporary. Don’t know how many times ive have this problem with my kids. COuld just be an SMS like the location service
Thanks for all your hard work! I really hope you will fix this so we can help protect our childrens privacy!!!
