As my S10e is going to retire due to disabling 3G network in my country I got a POCO F5 PRO as a replacement. Actually it seems I underestimated how complicated it is to unlock the bootloader on this phone.
I think that I already screwed the unlock procedure and now I need advice:
is it possible to restart the whole procedure? Resetting the phone and creating a new Mi-Account?
Then 4 steps / stages. There is no possibility of divergence from any point.
Significantly you should have a SIM card dedicated to the job. Where does the process seem to be failing?
Mi Flash Unlock may give errors or not see the phone. We have collected all the possible problems, their causes and solutions in this article about Mi Unlock.
Seems I screwed up the procedure by trying step two multiple times before step one. Haven’t found the correct how-to in the first place.
I will remove the device from my mi account, reset the phone, create a new email address to use for a new mi acocunt and will then follow the procedure as decribed in the how-to mentioned above.
Not a direct answer as you probably won’t get penalised for doing it wrong first time but you don’t want to look like someone trying to exploit them.
When I got it wrong first time and researched i got the idea that all these steps want to ensure you are the “consumer” and not someone with a workshop intending to knock out your own “Product”.
There is a good chance the process will start as soon as you “comply” in every way. You have to assume their servers will be watching (with an algorithm) your SIM card and Wi-Fi use. I mentioned dedicated SIM (like a “normal” user).
The significant indicator of success is that you suddenly see the countdown counter saying “xx days” or hours till liberated within a few hours of acceptance to the program.
I suggest if you think their counting is accurate and therefore that they are logging your phone … are you using it normally? Or does it appear as if sitting on a workshop bench? Maybe the messages are as if you are not determined acceptable to the program (yet). Or perhaps they do actually have an internal quota (??).
I’m having the same issue not being included in this quota. Not sure for how many weeks, but +2 at least. Which makes me a bit superstitious. Tomorrow my hopes goes to eating my hat before trying one more time. If that will not work, standing on one leg must do the trick. …or do you have any other suggestions?
Are there any other supported mobiles that’s easier to unlock?
