As far as I remember, I actually never used a Google account to install an app, and probably never installed a Google app in any other way (I am putting it in such a complicated way because I briefly had a rarely used “Google +” account many years ago … ).
I don’t have any Google apps, but I do have to use their services through a browser sometimes. This is mostly because people around me are using Google products and I still want to participate in society.
And YouTube. I can’t find a good alternative that can even sort of compete with the content I watch. Yes, I’ve tried the alternatives like Odysee, Rumble, PeerTube, and Invidious. None of them do it for me.
Everyone is talking about using MicroG. Honestly, I’ve got no idea what apps are using it, but every app I need works fine and that’s what I care about. Personally, I’m way more bothered by all of my notifications still needing to use Google servers.
