I’ve tried multiple times to install /e/OS on my Fairphone 5. I’ve allowed OEM unlocking, activated USB Debugging and set USB configuration to file transfer. I’ve checked that the drivers and cables are working and made sure that adb commands work to verify the connection. However, once the phone does a Bootloader Reboot, no device is detected by the installer while on bootloader start. Furthermore, I cannot find it in Device Manager, and if I run fastboot device in Command Prompt, it does not find anything. The phone is only detected once I have unlocked my device, even though I have previously allowed OEM unlocking. Can someone help?Sounds like you might be using Windows but don’t yet have the drivers for the phone in Fastboot mode.
I have set the Android SDK in my environment variables and downloaded the Google Driver and force-installed it. But when I open Device Manager after I reboot into the bootloader, I cannot find Other Devices, including my Android device. I also installed all optional drivers from Windows Updates. I’m also on the latest version of Windows 11. I have also confirmed the cables are working (the phone does normal data transfer when it is unlocked), and I have factory reset the phone.
The Android device still shows
but perhaps Windows has still got the drivers wrong somehow.
This might account for device manager showing
against the actual interfaces (??).
Probably worth to uninstall all and try again first. There is a follow on link if you are sure you exhausted all the regular methods Device doesn't mount on PC with USB - #8 by AnotherElk
I tried uninstalling the drivers and even rebooting my computer to factory settings. Nothing has worked yet.
