Random reboots on new FP6

I’ve just bought a Fairphone 6 with /e/OS, upgraded the OS to the latest version (3.5a15-20260211580868-official-FP6) and installed my old apps manually. The phone crashes multiple times a day and reboots. The reboots happen independently from whether the phone is actively used or just being in standby. I have added three user profiles and enabled, but never used the guest account.

My FP3 works normally with a similar setup and additional apps installed.

I have enabled /e/OS telemetry in the dev settings and created a bug report. I do not know whether the needed info present in the report. Where should I send the report to?

We have an open issue in Gitlab around the same issue. The team is looking for some logs to be generated and attached to the issue to help debug it. In case you do not have a gitlab ID check this guide.

I’m experiencing the exact same issue. Based on my investigation, it appears to be related to the WiFi module.

Quick question: Are you using WPA3 security on your WiFi network? I found that switching to WPA2 on the 2.4 GHz band resolved the problem for me. Worth trying if you haven’t already.

From what I understand, this is a known bug that’s being tracked.

Thank you for the instant response. I made following observation which might be relevant to check which issue this belongs to: The device restarts every hour at minute 10.

The device does not have a SIM card so it might not be related to that issue.

I disabled WPA3 and switched back to WPA2. I’ll report back if this fixes the problem. @Taco1978 Thank you. Do you know where the issue is tracked? I could not find it on GitLab.

Changing to WPA2 did not solve the problem. I removed the WiFi and added it again and the phone still reboots at minute 10 of each hour.

@tobi to bad.

I did not report it ( I am still a newbie  ) I will report it soon.

Hi Tobi,

Same issue here, solved it changing WiFi router…

Relative to WiFi chipset?

I have been getting this on my FP6 with e/OS since I got it, and no manner of reflashing helps. What does help is not changing towers.

My phone is constantly flipping between EU and US regions, and being reprovisioned causes the reboot. This OTA reprovision happens every time I switch towers. If Im in a lower signal spot and tower jumping, the phone just goes into a constant spin

I believe this is because I am in Canada and for some odd reason e/OS chooses to NOT include the Canadian region (which is present in both AOSP and Lineage) and this causes me to be unable to choose the correct language and also is triggering this reprovisioning.

e/OS needs to include all global regions.

@Routhinator did you read Post#2? The issue is still active with devs

A fix is in the pipeline but as your report brings another complication of Canada / Europe it might be useful to contribute there.

This will be 100% the aim of /e/OS devs, there seems some unexpected complication here.
