Relocking the bootloader on a Pixel 5

I’ve had e/OS installed on my Pixel 5 for a long time. I’m currently running version 3.2‑T (Android 13). My bootloader is unlocked. The Revolut app doesn’t work and requires a locked bootloader. According to the documentation, it’s possible to relock it because I’m using an official build: https://doc.e.foundation/devices/redfin/install. However, I’m not sure I’ve identified all the pros and cons of doing so. Have any of you relocked it and then disabled OEM Unlocking?

  • It seems that data isn’t wiped when relocking. Is that really the case?

  • OTA updates will still be installable. Can you please confirm that?

  • If I need to do a manual installation again, could I reactivate OEM Unlocking and then unlock the bootloader?

  • Will data be erased if I re‑unlock the bootloader?

of course yes

yes

Could you give information on what build you are?

Here is the build for my Pixel 5:

Regarding Revolut, check in the feedback for version 3.2 if there are any complaints that it doesn’t work with Pixel 5 and locked bootloader. I have seen in the past Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 users writing it doesn’t work.

Maybe ask different thread just to be sure before you do something which takes time and the effort doesn’t pay off

Thanks for the advice @mihi. Indeed, even though I haven’t found any posts specifically related to the Pixel 5, several users indicate that the app still doesn’t work with an official build and a locked bootloader.
