Revolut (Banking app) no more running

Same here, update to 3.0.4 with new version of Revolut seems to work without any problem at all. Seamless, no workarounds. I thought it was only with 3.1 that it’d be fixed, once it was updated to Android 15 though

I will try out my backup phone (Mi8 - dipper) on the weekend. Same v3.0 4 community build with unlocked bootloader and no root.
Meanwhile I found out an idea why Revolut allowed custom ROMs out of the blue.
You might have seen PewDiePie video about leaving Google behind (link). I believe this guy has enough publicity to creating trends and might Revolut saw that they lose clients because of this and they retreated.
It is just an idea, but it is interesting that they explicitly stated before that they never will support custom ROMs in the future (in replies to our complains) and now this happened.
I still would like know how permanent this change will be or see some info from Revolut side. Someone might ask them within app how permanent is this change in their approach on this topic.

Maybe they realized too much drop of customers and fixed something. Or they will patch it again soon. Anyway, for everyone you should also drop Revolut no matter what happens

Can confirm that.
It seems more likely to me that it was the update that changed something. I tried to open Revolut just some days ago with the previous version and it rejected the device. For me this problem showed up with the update to v3.x

And now I just installed the latest upgrade to 3.0.4-a14-20250708507308-official-FP4

With that, Revolut starts again.
I had to re-verify the setup (of course, since I had removed the App cache data some time ago).

BTW, I am using the Fairphone from Murena. My bootloader was always locked

Well, looks like the fix is gone again

Quite sad if true. Currently App Lounge does not work for me, but I will check once is available

About Revolut, I confirm it works for me just now with update to: 3.0.4-s-20250711508139-official-starlte

App Lounge, seemed to be broken for installing some app before and after the upgrade.

:hourglass:ah, now It works too in App Lounge, I’m managing to download an app. :+1:t3:

Phone was official Samsung S9 refurbished by murena, never changed only applying upgrades.

I have fired up Aurora Store meanwhile, but i dont see any update for Revolut. Newest is still 10.88.2 - which is the reportedly working version.
I dont like them either, for their f**king around with not supporting custom roms, but if they changed their mind and keep this way, some of us might be happy to have this app available.

Ver 10.89 - unsupported device. Well, screw them.

You could go back to the version with Aurora, you can install older ones.

Thanks, i didnt know that. Anyway, i still wait for an outstanding payment for my revolut card, then i will close my acc there. I can live without them. I just thought for a sec that they changed their approach towards custom roms, but i was naive and you were right…

I had Revolut working again with the previous version (i.e. 10.88.2), thinking that Revolut decided to fix the problem for all the following releases, unfortunately, I had the bad idea to upgrade the Revolut App to 10.89, thus it stopped working again on my FP3 running /e/OS 3.0.4

As suggested, using Aurora I attempted to downgrade it, it complained about downgrading to a lower version number, thus I had to remove the app and install it again, using the “manual install” feature of Aurora, to install the previous version.

As a reference for other users, the working version code to install is: 1008806832

(slightly unrelated rant: do not know why Aurora can not just show a list of available versions instead of wasting the users time to look for these version code numbers)

Now it is working again… but I will start to look for an alternative to Revolut.

e/OS: 3.0.4-s-20250711508139-official-starlte

Can confirm this works. I added revolut to the aurora blacklist, and will see until when they allow this version to work before they force an update to keep working

Same here… I can’t believe it…

What’s that “Aurora” people is talking about? Do I really have to uninstall Revolut 10.89 and install an older version in order to have it working on my Teracube 2e bought with Murena OS pre-installed?

I’m sad to say that contrary to what I said 5 days ago (xdaforums + tv-topia GitHub) does not work anymore. The version 10.89 detects all the Magisk and its modules.

As Prometheas did, I blacklisted Revolut with Aurora. Now it will stay 10.88.2 version for as long as it needs to be.

My Revolut app stopped working today too; probably after the latest update (auto update)…
I can’t look for alternatives to Revolut at the moment, but I will soon I think.

I did manage to solve this issue installing Aurora (I didn’t know it), uninstalling Revolut and installing it back through Aurora specifying the previous version (10.88.2 - code: 1008806832) as suggested by @benry (thanks a lot!).
I’m really piXXed off…

Using an older version of the app has been blocked now.
Quite annoying that they decided to lock people with certain OSes out

Isn’t it being solved in the 3.1 release? Isn’t it supposed to come this week or next one?
