be prepared to re-install a number of apps like e.g. signal (if you use it):
Note: For users upgrading their S7 / S7+
Please note that we have been informed that some third party applications like Signal do not seamlessly upgrade during the process.
The reason behind this is that the nougat version of the app is not compatible with the Q version of the OS.
The solution to this is to uninstall and reinstall the latest build of the application.
Please note, this will cause a loss of application data in those specific applications.
Ensure you take a backup of the appliā¦

I got inspired by @RD138 No mobile data connection on S7 edge - #5 by RD138
Other than in his solution/description there was no proxy defined in my APN-settings that I could deleteā¦ but I doublechecked the recommended APN-settings for S7 at my providers support-page (congstar). There is only recommendations for Android 6+7 available but in terms of APN-settings they are the same.
So I tried and changed APN from āinternā¦
as of now and apart from the above issues I did not experience other major issues regarding settings or the like (for instance all wifis and all account settings (imap, caldav, carddav, nextcloudā¦) are still available and functioning)
But it may be worth the wait for bugs being fixed
