Samsung S9 / bootloop // encryption unsucessful

Hi,
I used this page to put e/OS on my samsung S9: [HOWTO] Install /e/ on a Samsung smartphone with Windows easily

First I tried the latest community build => bootloop
Then I tried the official build => now I get the “encryption unsucessful” screen. I can go to e/OS recovery. The phone was resettet before so no personal data / google account,…

What else may I have done wrong and how can I fix it? Shall I “erase all data” and start again?

Thank you!

PS: Can I use the easy installer? I did not see before that it is compatible with the S9.

Regain your privacy! Adopt /e/OS the deGoogled mobile OS and online servicesphone

Using e-Recovery did you change the Recovery to official when you attempted change community to official? Did you notice, this would involve change in Android version

Android 13 -- T community

Android 12 -- S official

That is an excellent tutorial but not the most up to date, please be fully aware of the main documentation install page Install /e/OS on a Samsung Galaxy S9 - “starlte”.

In view of the possible corruption of Different Build Types and Android version, I think I would Factory reset while you still have that easy option.

Thanks so much for your quick reply!

Sometimes things are so easy… I chose “erase data” on the encryption unsuccessful screen and it rebootet and now all works fine! I am alright with a lower Android version, happy that is is working now.

Thanks again
