Something is telling me murena.io server load is going to be significantly lighter from now on.
As soon as the services are finally back online, god knows when, i’m getting rid of them entirely.
This is unacceptable.
Update 15 Oct: Mail system shut off in preparation for enabling for all users on 15 Oct. This should happen during EU working hours later today.
Any news about Murena.io? I need calendar and contacts back online, it was said that they should have been working yesterday…
Thank you
Not before end of week according to an update in this post :
- Calendar/Contacts/webmail/passwords at https://murena.io : ETA end of this week.
Continuing the discussion from Update on murena.io service outage:
It is interesting. Can you confirm that only 0.07% of the users are at premium level?
Uptime Kuma only reports if a service, or a group of services is up or not it has no way of reporting partial service outage. So that’s 0.07% full availability over the previous 24 hours.
e.g. I have kuma reporting on my Nextcloud with 4 probes, one for http probe for elasticsearch, one http probe for collabora office, one http probe for nextcloud itself and a ping probe. If one of those goes off then the whole group is shown as down.
edit: 0.07% of 24 hours is exactly 1.008 minutes
Whilst email is backup and running I am still getting 4 Soft errors for email, webmail, contacts under Account Manager. I don’t know what bw means at end of email address after Contacts, or what 8Q means after Webmail.
I found this article from the cooperative host NUBO (in french). The host explains its technical choices and clearly informs the user about the risk of service interruption incurred by subscribing to the offer. It would be interesting to be able to have such transparent explanations concerning MURENA services so that everyone can make an informed choice whether or not to use the service. Like many people in this discussion, I share the idea that clear information considerably reduces frustrations in case of outage and allows us to continue to support the service with confidence.
I used the Murena cloud only for 100MB files to sync between phone and computer. On Monday I moved to hosting.de. They have a free nextcloud with 1GB storage. This is an experienced webhost and I hope they will not have such accidents.
Just chiming in from the US here - still no email, and I’m pretty sure it’s way past working hours in central european time.
I’m torn between sympathy for what is a really crappy situation for Murena, and being livid that email has been down for over a week. That’s the sort of thing that really ruins an organization’s credibility.
Edit: it also ruins the credibility of those of us who recommend these organization’s services.
I’m afraid I have to agree with this departure. I (used to) use ecloud.gobal for sync-ing about 60 Mb of files between two computers and a phone. They contain all of my working notes for projects, reading, client billing, etc. Luckily this is just a sync between files I already have on my main computer which – for convenience – I set up to sync between a travel computer and phone. That convenience went away this past week.
I have now had to go back to using Dropbox. Luckily, the app that stores these notes can do encryption so, even though it is Dropbox (ptui!), there is very strong encryption keeping snoopy noses out.
The moment the Murena cloud comes back online, I am deleting the notes I store there, and disconnecting my computers from it. Unfortunately, this sort of occurrence really diminishes the reputation of cloud/email companies. I wish Murena all the best, but I cannot rely on them any more. Sadly.
Hi Community,
This morning my mailbox finally works again. I have a free account
The good thing is that all emails arrived correctly and nothing was lost!
Many thanks to the e/OS team!!
Try it out!
D.
Same here: now I can read email arrived in the outage period.
I had no problem without emails for week.
There is more in life than screen time.
I stay with Murena and my FP4
My main concerns in respect of the cloud is that I have images of items referenced for an Auction House selling items of mine and the Unofficial Manual for Zorin 17 Core I wrote in various file formats and accessible fonts is no longer available for new users of Zorin OS.
According to the update
I see that mail is now available for everyone.
Can you comment to what extent the emails should be back again? Are there emails which might have been lost? I don’t use this email alot other then forum and gitlab. I don’t know every email by heart but I feel some forum replies as an email are missing.
I totally understand the frustration behind this big outage, I regret this situation and I apologize again.
But I don’t need such kind of personal attacks, since I have personnally written an update since day 1 each time there was something new to communicate.
What about computer’s access ? I keep having this screen again and again since day 1 of the outage… I might have missed or misunderstood an information.
Thanks for the help.
