I emptied cache and storage, but not much changed. I had tree updates after rebooting. But still the update part of App lounge shows only the waiting circle.
I tried in anonymous and gmail login……
Also the categories section is very slow: it’ s shows apps after 5 seconds.
Does this mean that there wss a change but the problem returned?
The first thread includes the advice
you do not comment.
This advice is given assuming that there is a “log jam” which needs to be cleared.
The second thread is more specifically about
App updates
and the difficulties of breaking down the number of updates to be performed at one time. The assumption is mentioned that you have an existing “update list” which keeps failing. The effect is to recreate the above mentioned “log jam”.
Not mentioned there is the idea
Within App Lounge search for an app you believe needs update, will one app update but problem returns …
I logged out, cleared cache and the other, waited for 12 hours and logged in again, anonymous and disabled Update apps from other sources and Auto update apps.
Thanks aibd!!
I was afraid to go back to the android times, but you saved me:)
My thinking on this subject might include some “impossible” situation arising causing a failed transaction which is not cleared at the end of the session. If that should happen Clear storage would be required.
I avoid using App Lounge if, on opening, the animated blank screen screen lasts for any sort of prolonged time, like > 5 seconds. When the system is running slow maybe App Lounge runs out of time to complete the transaction. This then becomes the cause of a “log jam” all over again.
If the timer should show when there are actually no updates due to “all up to date” then this might be a different issue (??).
Edit Are you running a fully updated version of /e/OS. App Lounge had a significant update for e-3.6.
Download the latest /e/OS build for your device it must be named like e-3.2-a15-20251022539003-official-FP6.zip
Now study the contents, in each block of text is the line “url” … each url line is a “.zip” download.
Be sure to have a backup of essentials. I would reduce your installed apps to a minimum, this will also help you decide if you really need to backup “everything”. However mostly it will work without los of data.
Mmm, I downloaded 3e 3.7,1 a.16 community (for I have community). I updated local. The update started installing. I rebooted my phone. Then updater says I m using 3.0….. and not 3,7
I am sorry to hear this. It is difficult to tell what went wrong from your description as the download clearly did not finally actually install.
(The jump from a14 to a16 is quite big and may have led to an unseen error but this is speculation.)
A suggestion would be to attempt an upgrade to a14 only. Perhaps download say ~3.3-a14 only.
Offer the Local update, pull down quick settings and set Caffiene tile to the maximum duration. This ensures that the process is not interupted.
Having started the install check the screen from time to time.
The will show changes, you might record the steps you see. Typically there is a message saying that the new version is ready to boot and will ask “Reboot now?” or similar.
Try to check to see that each stage seems to record a success.
If this works and runs for a few hours, perhaps attempt 3.6-a15 the next day.
