Hi,
my gigaset gs290 has now a black Screen. I can not boot and switch onâŠ
I donât know whyâŠ
Can I sent my phone to someone, how can help me,mmy location is near SaarbrĂŒcken -GermanyâŠ
Hi Mimus
I am new to this /e/OS flashing thing like you, too. I was stuck in a boot-loop and could not power-off nor could I go into flashboot mode. What helped me out, was:
Press volume up first and then hit the power button. This brought me to the screen, where I could choose between recovery mode, fastboot mode and normal boot.
Dear Friend,
i thought, i brick my device. When i put usb c in my latop the usb connect signal comes and goes in intervall. I cant go in fastboot mode with Volume down and power on. The Screen stays black. No chance. I hoped, that a crack who is living near to me help me, or i can send my phone to an crack how know whatâs to do. But i give upâŠ
Almost thanl you very much you try help me.
greets
mimus
Even if fastboot is not working, you can revive/flash the phone with the Android 10 image again using the official installation guide (look for SP Flash Tool). I also had issues with fastboot not reacting and managed to start at the beginning again. Be sure to do as the guide says and to download the correct image, which is linked. SP Flash tool uses Mediatek built-in pre-init system to flash low-level.
What also helped on my computer, was to start adb/fastboot command and then to plugin the phone, otherwise it wouldnât detect.
Hi basat64g,
i try this, but SP Flash Tool abort the Flashing of the original ROM and message me that i first have to take a signed ROM or deactivate the verifing for the choosen one. But this can only do (so i think) in Fastboot mode over terminal command. But i do not have the chance to come in this area, because the screen stays black. The Device dont work. Only when i put it on usb on laptop i hear the usb sound in windows 10 for conecting and disconecting every few seconds⊠:o(
Iâm facing the same problem! After installing /e/ OS using Easy Installer v0.12.1-beta. on a Debian 10 Notebook, phone is not responding to any button. Screen is black. I followed the instructions of the easy installer step by step. Also the installer reported success after flashing. If needed I can provide the debug log.
Phone gets not recognized when plugged in notebook via usb cable after flashing with easy installer.
The syslog output is the following:

Hi Chris,
have you a option to try the easy installer with a Windows PC? When you try it, think about the Administrator Account to install and flash the Smartphone. The cable is OK?
Greetings
If I had a GigasetGS290 with a black screen in any of the modes I would do a Hard Reset. (I might try Soft Reset first just to check the effect.) I checked the manual, and (in a short search) found no reference to Soft Reset or Hard reset. The manual says for information further to that in the manual you are to contact their support service, in your country, seems to be available online or by telephone.
If the black screen is in say the Fastboot mode only I would assume I could use Factory Reset from within the phone and the Utility modes would all come good.
Update When I asked at Gigaset Service portal about Soft Reset I received this reply:
You have asked us how to do a soft reset on this model, first of all, you should remove the SIM card and SD card before resetting.
Also, we recommend you to back up your data beforehand, as all memory contents will be deleted.
In order to reset the phone, please follow next steps:
"Settings > System Settings > Backup & Reset.
and select âReset to factory defaultsâ.
Or (depending on the software version)
Select Settings > System > Reset options > Delete all data (factory reset). > Restart phone.
We hope that you find this information helpful and useful regarding your inquiry, if not, please contact us back and we would be more than happy to provide additional information.
just recived my GS290, tried to install e with the easy installer. Followed every step carefully. At the end I waited really long for the phone to turn on again.
Never happed, its dead! Black screen, doesnt react to any pressed key, no reaction if connected to power, PC doesnt recognize it anymore.
Any hope that I can restore the phone? Would really appreciate any help.
Cheers Wilm
